Hey Crawler, without those bead locks, you probably would have had a bad outcome. Did you tweak anything on that landing?

This was just shortly after the rock crawl comp. that I was running 7psi for....just need to remember to air up my tires before I do this again ha. Best part about that jump is a couple turns before that I had snapped my track bar in half so my axle was shifting 2' side-to-side. When I jumped it my axle was about 1' too far driver side and the landing snapped one of my shocks in half. The race was against my brother though, I had to give her hell and try to catch him to win. Finish line was right after the landing.

I am making the trailing arms from the 1.75 DOM sleeved over 6061 aluminum here are some crap pics of the progress.

This is the notch for the 3" Johhny joint going at the frame side.

I Made an additional sleeve to go over the joint to act as full wrap gusset.

Its a nice easy fit that will leave access to the weld and the joint for a complete weld across the whole joint.

    3" joint welded on.

    Sleeve gusset ready to go

    Gusset fully welded:

Here is the whole arm foundation next to a 2.5 x 14 king for size reference.

Here is the 3" joint next to a standard 2.5 johnny for reference.

Got some goodies for the zj today:

They are used. but in great shape the 2.5 resi smoothies are freshly rebuilt and valved for a close to what I am running.
The tripple Bs are 2.5 piggys that are valved much heavier from the front of a vehicle with a similar weight as well. I Hope to start close on valving at least. I was able to get All 4 for $1160.00 to my door.

I kept going some with the trailing arms today. I am building them first so I can set up the frame around them.

I wanted a dimple die that did not have a cut out and they are very pricey and I am impatient so I went to the scrap pile grabbed some DOM and solid and made one on the lathe.

It worked like a champ on the 3/16" I wanted to use. I wanted to do the dimple instead of a double lap like most folks do on trailing arms. If i feel they need to be stronger I can over lay a dimple again across them. Here is the result:

I drilled the hole after the fact but I think I may put a prick point on the punch for centering and aligning the holes better for the second trailing arm.

I am waiting on my material for the main gussets and the coil mounts still have to be imagined. I am putting the coils on the arms with a series of holes so that I can adjust the coil location.
Still coils and links. Still factory style suspension. I guess..... LOL

Are those 12's up front? You are going to love those kings.. they made a BIG difference on mine.. every time i go out i keep messing with the bypass tubes and it just feels better and better (offroad) lol... What size of limit strap are you running up front?

I would also make new upper mounts for those shocks... we made some for my jeep like T&J's
