Just over two months away! Everyone's Grand ready to go?
Guess it's time to give the Jeep a once over and start my to-do-list.
- Measure rear 8.8 shaft's runout. Driver side has slight run out, replace after GSW. Done/Future
- Replace front shocks, the old Bilsteins gave up the ghost. Done
- Relace blown steering stabilizer. Done
- Replace my blown dash tweeters. Need some tunes for the drive out. Done
- Tires are getting more worn out, hmmm, MTR's are backordered. Future.
- Replace loose CB antenna mount. Upgraded the CB as well. Done
- Tracking down a fluid leak. Found and fixed T-case leak. Done
- Recharge CO2 tank. Done
- Change motor oil/filter and top off all other fluids. Done
- Replace dirty beyond cleaning K&N filter. Done
- Greese all zerk fittings under the Jeep. Done
- Pack up tools, floor jack, spares, ice cooler. Done

I need to do more work to the tow rig than the ZJ.
F250:
New front shocks
Rebuild both drive shaft
Change all fluids
ZJ:
Put on tube doors
New front shocks
Change fluids
ZJ
Flush cooling system
Flat-belly skid
HID lights
Dmax
Nothing.......it's a Chevy
ZJ
Fix fawked up cooling so I can at least get emissions tested and renew tags. Damn heater core disintegrated and spread its guts somewhere in the motor causing a clog - Done except for tags, they'll be renewed by Friday.
Finish rear Claytons, exhaust, etc
Reconfigure sliders with the rear Claytons...damn you WyoJeepZJ for reminding me of that
Might as well de-rust the sliders and repaint since I'll have to have them off the Heep anyway.
Fluids
F-250
Fluids...the one vehicle I have that doesn't have other shit to deal with

Build List...
Crap, got to finish State taxes and another home flooring project. Last level though.
Maybe install the SYE transfercase
Install driving lights
Move fog lights down
Build new quick disconnects for front
Pre-run Rose Garden Hill
Maybe build brush/winch/light bar for front bumper
I need to:
Build a tire carrier
New fluids
Decide to run tube doors or not
Replace trans solenoid pack, and hope is fixes my no 4th gear issue, or I'm not going.
Or maybe piggyback on somebodys trailer. Is it a bad idea to hang the back of the ZJ off a trailer and pull the rear shaft to tow it there?
I REALLY want to go, but not if I'm at 3k RPM's for 6 hours.
Neil. You're coming. End of story.
ZJ JCR 1 ton steering, hopefully 231 with sye kit...get my AC condenser installed and AC charged, finish front bumper, and hopefully get the rear bumper built...I think that's about all I'm gonna try and get done...
1. Replace rear shocks (current very expensive remote reservoir shocks have a sucking sound when exercised).
2. Replace lovely stock Chrysler front brake discs (and pads) with discs that aren't warped (I thought Chrysler fixed this in the WK).
3. Swap winter tires/rims for wheeling tires/rims.
4. Oil change.
5. Reinforce belly skid to (try to) eliminate deformation when hitting on the trail.
6. Install all armor.
7. Get all my work-work done so I'm not interrupted while in Moab.
Make sure my #2 son graduates next year (from college) so I can get to GSW 2013!!!
Getting my AC fixed in another month or so.
Going to weld on an exhaust to exit out from underneath my Jeep.
Maybe, just maybe, actually really start on my front bumper
Fix, rebuild or replace transmission.
Front long arms
find coolant leak
relocate rear shock mounts
replace steering box
Wish list would be front and rear bumpers and oba.
And I have $300 to pull this off.
Well not sure if I can make GSW2011 or not, either way the 2 do list needs to be done regardless:
Find a winch mount
buy shakles
get rear tow points
BB
reconfigure and install rock sliders
tune-up
install diff covers.
maybe more but that is all I can think of now.
Tim
WJ
Finish Clayton install
Adjust Pinion
Center front axle
Measure for bumpstops
Finish front bumper and mounting Warn 15000
Finish rear tire carrier
Install Aussie in 44a
Make sure 231 is working
Maybe get new tires or will be wheeling with worn down bfg ats
Duramax
Serpentine Belt
Tahoe
Head gasket but probably not going to happen in time
I need new coils and an oil change.
brew some beer.
...and try to get some employees hired so I can go down Wednesday night instead of Friday night.
I guess alls I need to do is make sure the thing won't overheat or vapor lock on the way out there & back. I think it's fixed but not sure. Have to do a trip up to the mountains loaded to see. It's fine around town but I don't trust it.
Gota get emissions & tags too by the end of this month.
Gusset my front axle!
Guess I better send my waiver in to Dave, huh?
Life:
Finish capstone class
Work overnights the week before GSW
Get to do list done
Find new career
General:
Send in waiver and payment
Book Canyon Lands Campsite
Jeep:
Aluminum Control Arms
Lower Joints
Fix Storage Basket
Fix stereo
New driver High Steer Arm
Water in front tires?
Tow Rig:
Gauge pillar install
Programmer install
If you are talking Canyonlands Campground next to the Red Stone it is full! After some research I chose this.
Only a few weekends left. Are you ready yet?
