Here are a few pics from this weekend. It ended up being just Cam, Trey and myself. I guess everyone else was too limp wristed to come out and play. It was slick as can be after heavy rain last Thursday. It made for a throttle-fest that's for sure.
Trey doing some welding at camp
Cool pics! Wish I could have been there!
What was the point of the tinfoil on Trey's parts?
Awesome pics, looks like the wether was beautiful. Maybe it was a good thing I couldn't make it, I couldn't hang with you big boys with my 4.0
Awesome pics Ryan. I got a few but my camera is nothing compared to yours.
All the rain that came through Thursday night made the park extremely wet. It was no picnic The trails were grease Friday night when we went out for a few hours of wheeling after arriving. They dried out a lot on Saturday but they were still really slick. We had to light em up more than a few times. GMP has a surprisingly high number of trails and is really fairly big. I'll definitely want to visit again.
The rig getting welded on was mine. The foil is to keep weld spatter from sticking to the steering cylinder, airbump, and coilover shafts. I had a weld that was cracking where the truss terminates into the cast. It has been a recurring issue that I've been meaning to fix, but we added some gusseting for extra insurance.
"Ram arm"? don't you mean that there thingy
Yeah it's worth hitting pretty regularly. About 3.5 hrs from both Atlanta and Asheville, and the park has a lot of trails and amenities. Plus they allow night wheeling. The only bad part is the cost per day, and the hills north of Chattanooga are UNREAL /\/\/\
Kind of funny how I decided to take pics on the same one trail that Ryan did. But I'm getting really good at forgetting I brought a camera and half the wheeling we did was in the dark anyway
and a couple pics of the creepy abandoned summer/church camp that doubles as the campground
So I know it's difficult to compare because they are two different rigs with two different engines, but how did Trey's Rockers compare to Cam's red labels?
Yea sorry i didnt show, i loaded up and everything and was pulling out sat. morning at 7:30 when some people that i had tried to get to go with me called and said that they were going to a local place... so with it having rained on thursday, and my rig was def. going to be the smallest i knew i would just hold yall back, lol so i went to royal blue insted.
No problem man... we saw your post friday night and were keeping an eye out for you. it would have been fine... small groups are great for covering a lot of ground even with a variety of rigs, and we all hit different lines on different stuff.
good question. there are a lot of advantages to each of our rigs so it's almost impossible to compare. Trey's rig has a lot more belly clearance and mine has a lot more whoompow to roast the tires when required... but both tires shine in certain situations. Any time there's rock mine seem to do great, but on mud alone they really struggle. There was one muddy hillclimb that it must have taken me 20 tries to make it up on Friday night, just beating my rig as hard as I could. Trey's rockers went right up it once he found the line. It just depends. Factor diameter in and the comparison is even cloudier. But we are both able to keep up with each otherOriginally Posted by SirFuego

It is a fun place, there is really only one or 2 good trails, one of them being the sand mines trail, you go in off of I-75 exit 134 and come out at exit 141. here are a few pics of a ride we went on last march, same trail, just a year ago.

Looks like a slop fest. Still sorry I couldn't make it though. Had I known they have a creepy churich and playground I may have been more determined to get my junk done.
i wanted to make it so bad, but my trailer brakes took a dump and took the spindle bearings with them.....
