Just bought this from my mechanic who built it to tow before he picked up a 7.3 last year. Pictures of said tow rig. Wheels will be going soon.

    And the engine compartment.

Thanks. And it is a supercharged 383 stroker. It actually gets 14 mpg without towing which is surprisingly good. I won't drive unless I'm towing or messing around, I have a wk I DD.

Nice man! I towed with my stock 99 Tahoe a few times and it was not great, but it did the job. I am sure the difference between my stock 5.7 and yours is night and day. What rear axle is in there?

Looks like most of a dually axle.

Judging by the dented front "wheel", it looks like it just has the cheestastic dually wheel simulators on it. Maybe I'm wrong about the rear axle, though.

    Specs on motor?
What kind of injection is it running?
    What trans?
Do I spy old school heads? I can't see all of the valve cover.

Axles are stock with upgraded 4.11 gears. They were both rebuilt this winter.

Trans is also stock which was rebuilt this winter. It lasted 40K for him before it went.

They are fake dually hub caps. They are already off and probably just going to get some soft 8s to run on it for now.

The mechanic is out of town so I'm not sure on the specs as of now. I will get more info as time goes by.

And Ryan, I have no clue how much power it is pushing. From searchng online, it shows that guys get around 600hp and near that with torque with a supercharged 383. I don't know if does get that much, probably not but it hauls ass. Kind of scary cause it is so big.

With my stock 350 and towing my jeep I was already looking for SF 14 bolt, because I didn't trust the 10 bolt, just something to think about.

Ya, that is something I have been thinking about but just not in the cards right now. I have to much on my plate with my WJ and CJ so maybe next winter I will be able to get to swapping something in.

    That's funny. I run a K2500 with a stock 5.7 and SF 14 bolt. I was thinking about looking for a FF 14b.

By stock axles and trans, you mean 10 bolt/ 4L60E? Or 14b/ 4L80E? I'm not familiar with the Tahoe options. Are they all 1/2 ton?

Clay, why wouldn't you be looking into getting a FF 14 bolt? Is there not one that will bolt in?

Probably because the 14bSF comes in 8 lug or 6 lug flavors. 10 Bolt in it is prob. 6 lug.

Ah that would make sense. My research only involved FF 14 bolt stuff. I didn't even think about the lug pattern issue.

Yep the SF 14 bolt came in 6 bolt variaety on all the 1500 HD trucks, and would have been a direct bolt-on, so for ease of install that is what I was looking into.
