Nice, looks so serene, just the sound of the V8 and cruch of the snow under the tires. I figured there would be more snow after the last storm. Maybe the storm was further north. I was looking at the stream in the picture and I remembered that you guys in PA actually have a trout fishing season. I was shocked when I was talking to someone when I was going through PA a while back and he was getting ready for the season to open. It is a nice looking creek.
I'm not going to say anything about going out alone in the winter though.
what do you mean? like this?
same place the following day, different outcomes
PhillyPyro's predicament - http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f160/...l#post10802827
i wasn't worried about getting stranded, i was more concerned about this guy crossing my path
according to folklore, he resides in the area i was riding

Going out alone isn't a huge one for me, I often wheel and hunt alone, yea I know, double trouble could come.
But in the winter I don't want to spend the night in a vehicle, even being pretty prepared. In the cold things can get bad quickly and the penalty can be high.
Glad yours went well and the other guy got out OK and about that Jersey Devil... I was hoping for a moose picture or something like that, suprise for me. You can keep that folk lore, nothing much in CO besides gold camp ghost stories.
Its been a long time since ive been in the pine barrens. Ive seen many of a motor locked up and interiors ruined in that water and sand. Hell I blew up my first xj there in about 4' of water in December about 11 or 12 years ago.
The Pines cost me alot of money at one time too. Saw someone killed out there and havent been back since. RIP Bud.
Rick
Wharton, been there a few times and I want to go again.
You guys understand me, but The boy from out West always need to Point out how a Snorkel on a ZJ is a waist of Money. I spent Many Years wheeling my Previous ZJ in South Jersey Pines and It is because of wheeling in South Jersey I learned a Lesson on Physics . I learned that you can compress gas vapor and air in a cylinder but not water.
Cost me 500$ in parts and Head work done to get my Jeep back on the road. I started running snorkels Ever since I twisted and bent my #1 connecting rod on my 93 ZJ . Even now wheeling my 5.9 in New York, an ARB Snorkel was one of my first mods.. I don't think I could get away with rebuilding that motor for under 500 bucks, like I did with the 4.sl0w.
Ramsport just brought back some memories
Maybe 10 years ago I really can not remember exactly when; I had the great misfortune of coming across a potential critically wounded quad rider in the Pines around Forked River West of the G.S.P. Never forget the day I got thrown in to that rescue. Here I am an EX Navy rescue swimmer Jumping into a stream to fish some guy out of the drink. talk about flash backs. Any how, truth be told I do not know what the out come of his condition every was. If he is OK, I want my Blankets back, j/k I just hope He is not the guy you were with Ramsport59.
Any of you gents want to plan a trip to Wharton this warm wheeling season coming up, feel free to post up, I would love to join.
