4 links front/Rear with 7075 links RE joints, and 8" coils, 112" wb.
So...
I'll give you a little history first. I traded my old buggy for the old KOZ offroad ZJ a few years ago. And after rolling it last year its been waiting for a new body since. I have had its body doner for about two years now and its been my DD/Tow rig for the majority of that time. I am also a trail guide for jeep jamboree and I need a rig for this years Ouachita Jambo. SO since I sold my TJ last month this has to be done OCT. 28th.
So here is what the KOZ ZJ looked like new
When I bought it.
One of the last wheeling trip
After raping it of all its goodies (that was fri. Sept. 24th)
I stripped my red ZJ the weekend before (sept 18th-19th)
before stripping.
It took me the hole weekend to tare down the red ZJ and I spent the rest of this last week taring the KOZ jeep apart in the evenings.
yesterday (sept. 25th) I spend the day stripping the frame with paint stripper and pressure washing all my parts. I got a late start too since I had to run errands that morning so I only got about 5 hours of work done.
Today I was able to strip down the engine bay and move the inner fenders to clear the tires.
Thats all as of tonight. but look back daily because this one will move fast.
Wow, looks to be quite the project. Good luck!
Are those rear quarter panel protecting if so who made them i just crushed my passenger side on a tree at the local ohv looking for something like that.
there is a guy on jeepforum making some out of 1/8" ill be ordering a set thursday and ill let you know via pm
Sweet. I like the front inner fender work alot. I always enjoy browsing your builds, I was wondering when youd be back on MallCrawlin.
cut out the front cross member then mocked up the grill and BeCool radiator to see where the winch will sit.
then I started plating the front frame horns.
Thanks. It's not the project thats bad... It's the 30 days I have to get it done in.
They were, KOZ built them and was going to produce them at one point. So you may give them a call and see what they can do.
They were spot welded on. when I got it the tubes were cut off but the plating was still there... but hacked up.
Who? I may buy a set if the price is right.
Sorry, but mallcrawlin.com is boring. Thats why I rarely come over any more. But I knew you guys would like the build and I need all the motivation I can get to finish this thing before Jeep Jamboree.
So keep me motivated!
Since I am only able to get 3-4 hours or work in every night progress is slower than I need it to be. But I did get a decent amount done tonight.
Finished the passenger front outer frame horn plating.
Stripped the passenger frame rail, cut off the mounts and pinch weld. Then ground it all smooth
Started plating the inner frame horn. I did the inside with 1/8 and the out side and main rails will be 3/16.
Niiice man that'll be a very complete plating job, should hold up to that abuse you put it through pretty well!
I love watching progress. Looks great, now how do I get my crap goin.......
Definitely digging the build. I understand the "boring" thing, there's only so many ways to skin a cat so the tech info can get a bit repetitive around here, but having build threads like this on the site is much appreciated as it is definitely beyond the normal run of the mill build.
I think this build thread is boring
More plating
Then I spent an hour and a half cutting the driver side frame monts off and grinding it all smooth.

Driver inner rail done
outer rail cleaned up and PS box bracket trimed
My wheels showed up today too. :grinpimp:
Nice work! I can't wait to see it in person Friday.
Im liking the inner fender structure work as well. Very nice fab work.
Are you cutting those pieces out with a plasma?
yes.
I am moving the coils forward a few inches since I am stretching the front. You will see how it will all tie in later.

I just worked a 17 hour day, with only one being spent working on my jeep. So I didn't get much done.
the plating is bitchin'
dumb question though, is "Action Fabrication" a shop? if so do you ever foresee selling any of these plates?
