psc power steering pump is dead(sent it to psc to rebuild)
For the most part just waiting on parts to come in the mail. Hope they get here in time.
Also modfied my Milwaukee Jobsite radio to work in the rig so i have toons.
Getting RED AKA my cummins fixed this wensday
transplanting second 6.0 in dolly this friday it makes the 6th motor shes had lol
Got through a local rockcrawling event this weekend with the typical scratches underneath. I won't be wheeling anymore until GSSE, so just looking to check over the rig and trailer to make sure everything is actually in order.
Waiting on some of the spectators to upload some video from the event.
Got my rear upper link mounts rebuilt this weekend... they took forever and a day to make but they're now par with the rest of the rig... slightly less ghetto
-rear tube fenders
-throttle body
-leaking rear diff
-pack jeep
-rear tube fenders
-throttle body (running strong now)
-leaking rear diff
-pack jeep
All i need is axle shaft and my power steering pump and i should be set.
plus two stock size tires so i can fit the jeep on a trailer im about 3 inches 2 wide.
Thats alot of work! it sounds like its time to do a few changes to the trailer so the Jeep will fit
Got to grease my front u-joints and re-charge the AC then I am good to go... good thing since we are leaving in three days haha
yesterday we got the full hydro cylinder mounted and tie rods made, arms drilled, front axle and steering protection bent up and welded in, driveshafts made, lower spring perches welded, and the front rad hoop bent and welded in. if he can mount the orbital and get a radiator and his fan in today, he'll be in decent shape.
you guys got alot done in a day, must have been a long one...
where those super high steer arms a PITA?
He said something about bending his frame when he dropped the rig without springs?
actually wasn't that bad, just HOT. started at 1, worked mostly at a casual pace and I finished up around 11. High steer arms were OK, had to space the tie rod heim down a little for him to have any uptravel at all, but that is how mine is also... bent frame sounds like classic will exaggeration
yea it was hot as fawk up here so i can only imagine what it was like down there in hell..
glad you went over and helped.. i have this mental picture of a fish out of water when will starts to actually build anything
Haha. It's only been in the 80s up here (for like 20 straight days -- which is I think a Buffalo record) and it's too hot for my northern butt to do anything.
I think 10-15 degrees is about my limit for working on the Jeep in the winter, though. The worst part about the cold is usually the wind, so even a non-heated garage isn't too bad if you keep moving around. You can always put on more layers in the cold

OK got the reverse lights and turn signals working. Couldn't get the brake or tail lights to work though -- the two most important ones. I looked at the FSM and I mis-read the schematic and wrote down the wrong color for the brake lights -- so that should be easy to fix.
Note to self: Look at which connectors I cut out since Jeep conveniently changes wiring color from one side of the connector to the other.
It looks like I fuckered up the taillight wiring somehow because I can't find the feed from the light switch on the dash in running to the rear quarter. There is at least an ignition-on power feed I can directly wire the tail lights into as a quick fix to so that I at least have rear lights -- per Evarts requirements from what I read.
The magnets I got for mounting the rock lights also weren't as strong as I was hoping, so I don't think I'll have any rock lights if we do a night run.

Jared, The wire for the taillights may be there, but you can't find it with a test light because the fuse may be blown. Check that.
you can use mine to locate the tail light wire if you need to... I tapped into that wire after i removed my dash and all the factory headlight and tail light stuff..
I got it working. There was a jumble of wires I "threw aside" the other night and didn't even bother to look at them. Had both the wires I needed.
Got the tires aired up for the trip and made sure all other tire pressures were good. She's ready to go! Wake up, get some Tim Horton's and ship on out!!
Probably going to relocate some of the lights, but it'll do.
