- Pick Jeep up from shop with a new tranny
- Wire up the full gamut of lights
- New trailer tires
Nothing too crazy, so hopefully I won't be scrambling last minute to get ready, but I'm sure something will crop up. I have 1 (possibly 2) local wheeling trips planned before GSSE. They should be "easy" trips, so I figure anything I break on those trips would have broken in Harlan -- just filtering out the weak links!
Test

Well one thing is crossed off my list...
Picked up this baby this weekend
no I don't think FOA would really give a shit anyway. I've been using my semi-tight winch rope as a front limit strap and it took a toll on my fairlead mount. I straightened and braced that up last night but I need regular limit straps too. Gonna take the shocks apart probably this weekend and see what's up.
and damn I knew I had stuff missing from that list...

Finish truss
install coil over mounts
install coil overs
flex test to see what hits and how the spring rates are
fix engine
Just make sure you check your trans often. If you going to have an issue, that would probably be it. You don't need a turbo diesel power to tow a grand. It is a bonus for sure, but I think your Tahoe will be fine power wise.
As for my checklist:
- replace all my bushings in the long arms and tracbar.
- lower it down about 2" front and rear
- replace the bulbs in my gay assed ProComp 130's
- move the welder, generator, air compressor on to the gooseneck
- finish my skidplate
- pack my spares and tools in the jeep
The guy who towed me to bigdogs is 98% sure he has off work that weekend.
Looks like I need to get cranking on this shit!
On my to do list in Harlan, not be the second in Kentucky history
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100629/...us_bear_attack
Been working on my list for a few weeks now and seems to keep getting longer
-new bearings in pass. hub (torn down needs reinstalled)
-fix leaky front diff (torn down and waiting on lube lockers)
-new track bar mount (work in progress)
-replace front output seal on xfer case
-extend front CA's an 1"
-fix Driver side bump stop
-raise pass seat
-fix rear gate
-new tube doors with skins to keep mud out
-fix slow leak with one beadlock
-vac 20# of dirt out of jeep
- drill and tap rear bumper to get up and down play out of it
-rear tube fenders
-fix OBA
-double check all bolts
-also I would like to install tranny and hydro temp gauges.
A few things on there on necessary but I would like to have them finished in time.
Also how the rain been down there, is it muddy or dry?

When we were there a couple weeks ago it was a little less slick than it was last year at GSSE. It rained a lot the week before we went but it wasn't the slickest I've ever seen it. Of course there is still plenty of time for the place to dry out or get completely soaked between now and then...
our little nook of the smokies has been really dry for the last month or so but like cam said there is plenty of time for that to change.. the last 2 times i've been at harlan its been dry, personally i think a slopfest is in order
My to do list...
Fix Will's shit for him...
we did the slop fest last year, i'm hoping for a dust bowl.
