I'll take 2, one for a spare. You might just let people drill there own holes. That keeps cost down and lets everyone use one plate type (weld or screw works for both)
FWIW I found a metal spec that showed cast iron (e.g. engine block) is slightly higher than steel for corrosion rate in an aqueous system. Both were considered lower than any other engine/cooling system metal. So as long as the coolant is kept fresh I am not going to worry about it. I do a 3 year flush anyway so for me I think it is a moot point.
If these are laser cut, the setup should be almost nothing if all we get are disks with no holes. They just program in a 3.5 circle and let the computer run the setup for maximum metal use. This should be a 15 minute program setup.

if i have it made without the holes in it can you drill the holes?
PM sent.
ditto I always need more spare parts
Pm's returned. Still got some left
Also I did some research and looks like SS rod 309-16 should be used to weld the SS plate to the carbon steel rotor. I will try to find a 1 lb can and if anyone needs some I will sell you a few sticks for basically the postage. I will post if can find some.

hey thats cool. i was thinking of just spraying the weld areas with cold galv compound since the coolant has anti-corrosive properties
got 2 plates left if anyone wants them

I would not spray with cold galvanize as the zinc can float free and it could screw up the antifreeze (not 100% sure). I would reccomend either POR-15, or Hammerite. they both passivate the weld site which should do the trick.
plates are done at the laser shop, just got the call a few minutes ago. probably go pick them up tomorrow.
still got 3 left..
sounds good! Thanks for making these up
I think have a lead on 309-x for welding stainless to carbon steel. I am trying to get 1/8" rod.
sorry for the delay guys, i picked up the discs yesterday, i'll get them shipped out this afternoon or in the morning. just keepin you updated
shipped you guys' plates today, everyone should have them by this time next week at the latest. they went regular usps mail. still got 3 of them if need arises..
i installed one on my rig before going wheelin this weekend. definately made a difference in cooling (and cheap too!)
i just drilled a couple of holes in mine and plug welded it to the impeller fins, no need for gasket stacking that way
Got the plates thanks.
Ok I order 1 lb of 309L rod they 1/8" x 36" long. If anyone needs some let me know. For mailing I will cut them down. Just grind off the flux at one end till you get the bare wire to hold it.
Unknown to me my local place (the only one that sells 1lb cans) was sold and no longer sell retail.
yeah thanks for the plates! I have not had a chance to get it installed (hopefully won't have to need it soon)
cool, glad you guys got them, i've got 2 left if a need arises and can have more made anytime..
