Well I was gonna leave Tuesday night after work. But then I said screw work and decided to leave Monday night. That will hopefully put me in Moab eveningish on Wednesday.
Thx Dave will do.
Just made my to-do list a little longer again. We decided to rip the stereo out of Pam's ZJ (alpine hu, sirius and ipod integration) and put it in my ZJ (busted pioneer AM/FM/CD with a CD stuck in it). That shouldn't take too long though.
Can you make that order of wings for me again Sandy?
LOL, you were already there. I was like 20 minutes out & the wing deal ended in 15 minutes or so.
I'm kinda kidding with ya. I hope to be there before 6:00. If I don't have something happen to the jeep on the way there like last year I should be.
Gee, I don't remember it that way. Maybe you were going to go over already & just hurried over for me.
But thanks again!! Ended up a good day insted of a bad day. That day came back to haunt me yeasterday. I went & had the tires rotated & balanced & found out the very slow leak I had in the front right tire since after GSW was the rim. The caliper coming loose rubbed a spot in the rim to cause the leak.
Is it Wednesday that they have the wing deal?
Well, I finally got the rear in, 8.8 with an Aussie and long arms. Now the rear sits 2" higher than the front. It looks like a 70's hot rod. And it is straight piped so it is kinda loud, not as bad as I thought it would be, but it doesn't sound so great. I need e-brakes and colder plugs.
I like a little higher, but this is pretty high. I am also going to add a muffler. It is straight pied now and I dont like it. It is to loud, inside and out.
I Just finished mine yesterday for the most part. In the past month, 4.88's front and rear, Aussie in the rear, HP30 got rebuilt and trussed, new BJ's, Yesterday I flexed it up with the forklift a ton to make sure nothing was hitting, had to bumpstop in the rear and trim some front and rear. Nothing the plas could not fix! I am leaving wed morning ~6 A.M. Hoping to be there in time for the picnic dealio! Its about a 25 hour drive...
The Cities, Mapquest said it was a 19 hour drive, but Darrick said it would take mid 20's. We will have to stop for a couple meals, and also stop at the inspection/weigh stations along the way. Maybe because mapquest assumes you are driving the speed limit or more the entire way. We will be hauling about 24k weight total so its not something we want to be driving 80mph for with a 42' trailer behind us.
Weigh stations? Huh? Thought you only had to do that if you're towing more than 1 rig?
Jeep's up on the trailer, I'll give the straps another click tomorrow before heading out.
Looks good Jim!!
Not much on my to-do list since I was just out there a couple of months ago. I switched out my dead Optima, and went with a yellow top this time. (This year when I let it sit I will just disconnect the dang battery.) I waited until the last minute to replace my second Bilstein 5150 (broke in the same spot, and it is an obvious manufacturing defect - price does not always equal quality), and so now I'll have to run some temporary ones until I get around to ordering some Ranchos (they will hopefully arrive tomorrow, or I'll be using a backup BACKUP shock, an old Deutchtech). Wish I had kept those MX-6's from a couple of years back.
I picked up the trailer from storage this evening. Will check lugs, fluids, and tire pressure tomorrow, and get things packed. I won't be leaving here until Thursday morning, but will see you all at the park that evening. We'll be staying at the Red Stone again.
Looking forward to seeing you again Stan! Drive safe.
