Found a 1993 f250 for sale a month ago, that sold, but apparently the buyer backed out, the truck is mine for 700 if I want it. The body is haggard and the tranny leaks, needs both fuel pumps, and it has no bed. Both axles are in good shape and could have a home under the zj. Should I do it?
In other news, got some work done.
Chop framerail
Cap framerail
Mock up new frame
Ad fish plate with weld holes
'93 F250 has the D50 TTB stock.
Cant be a 93 then, I definitly saw a straight axle under there, no ttb.
Nice progress Neil looks great
Thanks Biggoofy.
The truck is an F350 BTW. Deal or no deal? Axles are rust free and in good condition.
Front axle is going to be a balljoint dana 60, not the worst thing in the world though, Ryan (rstrucks) runs one. Rear is a....? I feel like I've heard a sterling 10.25 but thats a big shot in the dark
I want a 79 kingpin sixty, but thats $$$ obviously. I'm better off just not opeining another can of worm with building tons now too.
I will have the other framerail done shortly, then statr mocking up coilover hoops, and radiator mounting.
do it I run a BJ 60 without any problems. If you want to or need bolt on high steer than upgrade to KP using aftermarket C's and knuckles later. $700 for the truck that you can make half you money back on is a no brainer. I would find a 60 or 70 rear to use though.
Agreed! The sterling 10.25 that its got in the rear is strong w/ 35 spline FF shafts but it's huge and doesn't have much aftermarket support. Really depends on what your build plan is. It'd be something to get you by for a while though. Even though it's probably geared at 3.55.
I think saturnicl used sterling axles on his white whale build.
any progress Neil?
Both framerails are done, motor is centered and resting on the new mounts, got the new (refurb) waggy four bolt box mounted to the framerail about 4" forward from stock, ordered my griffin radiator and fan, ordered my 14" FOA Coilovers and springs, brought home another 60' of tube, got the roof halo allmost done, and one EXO "A" pillar from the roof to the slider, got my Hella 6" H4 lights ordered, four 1.25" heims, and misalignment spacers for the new front long arms, and a few other little bits and pieces here and there. I will eventually get some pictures.
Looking into buying that front 60 and cutting the C's off and eventually (long ways from now) getting Reid Racing kingpin C's and knuckles.
Pics or lies
PICS or it didnt happen lol. Sounds like you're moving along nicely man.
edit: changed it for elliot aka grammar police

Here are a few more pictures, the driver side framerail, and steering gear mounted, got a good start on the A pillar and halo.
Looking great Neil!
Lookin great so far Neil, keep up the progress.
What are you doing with the old LA's? Were they damaged in the accident?
Lookin good. I may have missed it but are the rails ZJ width apart? Looks like the motor mounts are bolted up too so you are well on your way.
Thanks guys.
Nahh, the long arms held up fine, I wanted to push the front axle forward alot more than the threads on the joints would allow, so I sold the long arms to my brother, we just put them on his ZJ last weekend.
They may be ZJ width.... I didn't plan on it being any specific width. It's 27 or 28" between the inside of the rails though. Motor mounts are in, yes, glad they are out of the way.
My Radiator showed up today , and I'm about to leave to go get a hood and start mocking that up.
Does anybody have a good idea for a Tranny cooler? The Griffin radiator doesn't have a tranny tank.
Well, I got the "new" hood bolted in and cut the corners, got the basic location for the radiator, got a bunch more shiny parts in boxes today too. Overall I am VERY pleased with the quality on the Griffin rad. Awesome clean welds, great quality, came with an overflow tank, 2 wiring harnesses, thermo switch, and a shiny cap . I thought I was getting the rad only.
The tube on the left side of the picture is actually an A pillar I set in place to get an idea for the fender.... it's mock up only.
Purrdy!!!
