bout 30 min in, the red TJ broke a ujoint, taking both ears. Still wheeled in 3wd
Stupid rock
Day got cut real short because the red TJ broke balljoints about 45 min after the axle shaft.
Still had fun
So...your bud broke a D30 shaft (or atleast that's what it looks like), kept wheeling...and didn't expect it to break a ball joint out?
And even if it did break, why did ya'll quit wheeling? You had to fix it either way so fix it and keep going.
It was about 12 when it broke, went and got lunch, went to local parts store, had it but no puller tool. Had to drive 30 min away to get part, card got declined because bank thought it was suspicious that he was buying things in crozet, took 30 min to fix that, came back, was around 3, took an hour to fix, was about 430-5 when it was done. Wanted to get home around dark.
Me and pat dicked around in the TJ for an hour while the other two dudes were fixing the balljoints.
Ah those days of wheeling filled with breakage is always fun. Hopefully the guy in the red TJ learned a lesson -- take the time to pull the inner shaft when you break the ears.
That makes more sense as to why he still wheeled in 3wd.
weekend before you guys
