I saw the truck it came out of and it's a 07 2500hd classic. I found on LS1tech that some LQ4s came with these pistons. But only found the one post to confirm this.

Is the main difference between 317 heads and L92 heads that came on LY6s flow? Those heads should give the same CR on the same shortblock right?

Either way, that's interesting. Did they only use those pistons in '07 models? Mine's from an 06 but I need to look up when my motor was assembled...

I really don't know yet about the L92 heads. I know they take a different intake manifold and has square exhaust ports or something like that.

I'm not really sure about what years they came in but I'm thinking only in 07, they must have ran out for LQ4 pistons and just used these instead.

Yeah I was just wondering if your CR could be higher than ~9.6:1 if the L92 and 317 heads were different other than the port shapes. But it's pretty cool that they made some "super" LQ4s, and you found one...

That is odd. The lq4 pistons are dished a bit more and dont have valve reliefs. I thought the ly6 was the 6.2 though so unless they used a crank with longer stroke the pistons should be too big for the 6.0 block.

LY6 is Gen IV 6.0l. You are thinking of the L92

What are you doing about the shifter? Where the GM usually has 4 forward gear selections? And what are you doing for throttle and shifter cables, etc? Got it figured out yet?
More info on bolting the jeep t case to the 4l60 please. Id like to bolt up a 231 without buying a $600 adapter.

The output shaft on the 4l60e is 27 spline so I took a transfer case input shaft from a S10 Blazer NP233c and dropped it into my NP242. Should work the same for your NP231. Then I got a Dana 300/NP203/NP241 clocking ring from Greatlakeoffroad since they have the same bolt pattern just clocked different.

And that is it? The clocking ring didnt leave you in any wierd in between spot where high was too high and low was too low? Tks for the reply. Tried to give you rep but it says I need to spread it around more.

I did have to grind one hole bigger on the t-case adapter that is on the 4l60e.

As far as clocking it, it's up higher than stock but not too close to the floor yet.

It's been a long time since I've posted on here, time for a few updates.

I cut my rockers off and replaced them with 3x6 3/16" box steel with three 2x2 1/4" supports welded to plates and welded to the frame.

I took the 2" coil spacers out of it and cut the front fenders more. Now looking into coilovers for the front but I'm on a budget. My shocks don't allow enough up travel so I could move my mounts down on the axle but would prefer coilovers

Here's a pic of it after I cut the front fenders and minus 2" coil spacers.

It's been holding up so far but we don't have many big rocks, mostly just trail running. I pulled the 3rd to check the bearings, ring & pinion and changed the rear axle bearings.

Also put some chromoly shafts in the front. Today I finished the bumpstops and am limited to 3.5" uptravel till I go to coilovers. I didn't move my shock mount and there are no shocks that I've been able to dig up that would be the right fit so it's ok for now.

I've got a lot of reading to do on how to chose the right spring rates for the coilovers.

Well I went out for our clubs annual New Years Run and had 6 flat tires, that's right 6! I kept getting ice/sand/mud in the outer beads. Time to order some beadlocks...

Cool, thanks. I've long wanted to squeeze an Anti Rock in the rear of my ZJ, but if I ran it through the frame rails it would limit up travel because the upper control arms would hit the sway bar I think.
