Damn my man, you have done in a month what I have done in 10 haha!

As far as the tach goes, as soon as I get it running I'll start working on the tach signal generator and I can make you one too.

Per your question about the oil cooler, my engine didn't come with one. If it had I would be hard pressed not to try and use it. Within reason, extra cooling is better and oil gets into places and absorbs heat from parts of the motor coolant doesn't get to.

    It runs!

BUT I have a major trans leak between the transmission and transfer case. I'm pulling the case right now but have no idea what it could be. I know on the Jeep trans the rear output seal was sealed up by the input shaft of the t-case. On the 4L60E the reluctor ring is on the output shaft and there is no seal or no place for a seal on the rear of the trans.

    Any ideas?

How awesome is it that you just brought this up, I was looking at this thread not 10 minutes ago on how I want to notch my drivers side frame rail haha!

The rear of the trans has no fluid seal at all? That seems odd to me...

Well it does but it's in past the reluctor ring. Maybe this trans has fluid in the tail end unlike others.

Nice build. Noticed the 9" back there. Is that a CHP or a True9?

    Keep it up.

On my 700r4/231 combo there was a gasket between the two from the factory. I put a bead of black rtv around the adapter and stuck the t-case on after it set up when it was still in the blazer (donor) and it never leaked. Did the same thing when I put it together again and it hasn't leaked yet. I haven't been able to find the gasket, but it hasn't been a problem.

There is a gear-driven governer back there that gets trans fluid on 700r4s - apparently the 4l60es didn't get any additional seals.

Thanks for the advice. I figured it out right after I made the last post though. No more leak!!!

I have the front end all back on and most stuff taken care of except for the air intake, trans & t-case shifters. The stock GM throttle cable was a perfect fit. Even clipped into the fire wall just like the Jeep one.

My driveshafts do have to be changed, rear is way too short, front too long

I'm having troubles getting the t-case to seal to the transmission right now. I'm pretty much done though. It moves on it's own power now but still no exhaust on it till next week. I'll be done for May long for sure

Well I resealed the T-case to transmission. Seems to be holding with the Mopar ATF-RTV so far. Built a transfer case cable bracket, cleaned up some wiring, mounted the coolant bottle and GM PCM, finished the coolant lines, etc. Did a bunch of other small things. Waiting on a bracket for my transmission shifting cable.

I do have a trouble code that I need to figure out. P0342 Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Circuit Low Voltage. One guy on LS1tech told me my cam bolts are loose but I highly doubt it. Said it was a big issue in the Vette motors.

I have not checked to see if there's voltage at the CMP sensor yet though.

    Sorry no pics yet.

The cmp sens reads from the very back of the cam off of a vane that is machined in so I doubt it is loose bolts? Its possible you have a loose connection or bad sensor IMO.

I did have to loosen the sensor and rotate it a bit to get the oil pressure sensor in there but I put the hold down bolt back in and it's tight. Maybe I forgot to plug it back in lol

You're probably thinking of Rizzo's Jeep. This ain't it. He had the same front bumper (that I helped build) but that's it.
