Crap... I'll be at a conference in New Orleans.. This sounds like more fun, though.
I got the dates set in the calender....
About 1.5 more months!
The list isn't too bad for me:
- Swap out steering box -- possibly hydro assist
- Replace bent drag link TRE
- Grind down sway bar mounts so I can turn fully left with my "high clearance" tie rod
- Paint rock rings
- Reseat tires with a little RTV to hopefully get rid of the self deflators at the bead
- Put together OBA (I think this has been a goal I haven't accomplished for every wheeling event in the past two years)
I was just thinking about this and was going to post something up to get it on people minds. As for my list i guess ill have to wait to see what falls off the jeep at big dogs.
We should be there, as long as nothing else brakes.
Have fun - looks like I'm not attending the conference (budget issues) - but I am going wheeling / camping that weekend with some locals closer to home, will be better for shaking down the Samurai.
Ohio Pyle area camping and whatnot
wow I'm slow, maybe I should of searched for this, looks like ill have to deff make this trip
see one or two of us northerners wheel, glad your going to make it.
Thanks man, excited to hang with you guys, wish I had a trailer
Here is some information that would be helpful to people that don't know me, or have never been to Rausch Creek.
The only costs associated with this event will be normal daily wheeling fees at Rausch Creek and for any t-shirts stickers you pre-order. From RC's website, here are the wheeling costs:
Also, when you enter the park, the free primitive camping is located to the right of the entrance. I am planning to get there on Thursday the 27th before dark, so look for my rig (the Robot or a Red Ram 1500 with NY plates) if you want to camp with the GSNE crew. I will also be there with a teal TJ. This is my rig if you don't already know (minus the headlights since they have been recently cut off):Rausch Creek Off Road Park is a membership-based facility. There are no pre-requisites or waiting lists. All drivers and passengers must sign a membership application & liability waiver. Drivers and passengers age 16 and up are required to become members of the park which costs $15 per year and is good for one year from the date you join. Membership cards are given out when you join.
Children age 15 and younger are free, however, we require a parental waiver. All members under the age of 18 also require a parental waiver.
The daily entrance fee is $35.00 for the vehicle and driver. Passengers age 16 and up are $7.00 each (When a passenger joins the park, the $5.00 fee is waived that day). We offer free primitive camping for our members.
If you are staying in a hotel, look for the ones in Pine Grove. Many of them offer discounts to RC-goers, so mention that you are there because of the park. There is also a truck stop a few miles down the road where you can take a shower after wheeling if you wish.

shit, I just realized i had the wrong dates and kept thinking this was on the 21, 22, 23. Well i guess that gives me an extra week to try to get all my stuff done.
okay after sitting down it looks like i'll be up for sat only since GSE will be the following weekend do to funds being short and really not wanting to tear anything up.
