Hmm I spyed an Arsonist in my neighborhood today! Haha it was good chattin with you for the 30 seconds before your light turned green lol. So do you live in the same area? I saw a black WJ getting lifted or got lifted in a driveway a few years back....it would be just too crazy of a coincidence for you to live THAT close to me!

Ya damn lights interrupt conversations. Didnt know you lived so close, i may have to stop by and chat. I used to live in phoenix field over in the "enclave" right across from the park there. I live off of sunrise in apartments now

i ran the lights through the trailer harness for the brake/turn in one wire deal. and then put a resistor in place of the old turn signal circuit because it still hyperflashed

    Axle looks pretty sweet!

Did you figure out if it was a narrow or wide FSJ axle for certain? Maybe you could throw a tape measure across the tops of the ball joints?

I wouldn't stress about the size of the 14B too much. Get the Jeep set up and later when you run out of things to futz with shave it. IIRC just shaving it without turning down the ring gear gets it really close to Dana 44 clearance.

thanks! as of now no. i want to get all bracketry set in place first. the drivers side will be a little tight depending on spring perch placement and height. we'll probably weld the tube at the housing at the very least

it is definitely a narrow axle as agitated pancake stated a few pages ago, the drivers side is much shorter. i think its late 80s grand wagoneer. the wms on this axle is 61.5 but i have 8 lug outers which push it out ~3/4" each side

ya im not too worried about the 14b. ill probably grind it flush with the cover or maybe a bit more. now that im going with 37s as well im not so worried about it

Actually that ended up a lot better than I was expecting, I'd say 63" is manageable!

It's lookin great man, can't wait to see more!

Agree, it's a nice match for the 14B. Normally you want the rear axle to be 1"-2" narrower than the front to help with the turning radius. It would be interesting to see what his "exact" measurements (62.5" vs 63.?") are just for S&Gs.

once i get the tie rod on and actually have the hubs straight ill let ya know. when i measured the other day it was maybe a sixteenth shy of 63. ill need to mount the hubs on my 14b to be sure. but i know there are 61 and 62" variances in the DRW hubs. not exactly sure what i have yet but i should be looking good

wms on the 44 is exactly 62 7/8"
bj to bj i beleive was 47 1/4 if im not mistaken

my job for the day was to clean up about 100 tabs and out of it id get a set for myself

lowers for front and rear, and uppers for rear, third link in front will be custom.
    3/8ths material with 3/4 hole

also got my spring pads drawn up in cad. im hoping 2" off the axle will compliment the 6" springs and 37s?

its been awhile since ive posted in my own thread. but anyways, I caught the bug. Just picked up an early 90s ford KP 60.
still have the 44, i've tried to sell as a whole and just can't get rid of it. going to start taking things apart and selling it off piece at a time. Let me know if you are trying to build a 44, lots of new and never run, parts.
going to run a loc rite for now. switching over to 5.13 instead of the 4.56 and stock shafts and joints for now, or until i break something.

no real progress on the jeep itself. i just blew money on the 60, so the next thing i'm saving up for is a cheap DD so i can finally start hackin into the jeep and still have a ride.

with the lack of rain thus far here on the west coast, I've been abnormally busy and haven't had any time to tinker with the axles or the jeep besides doing a rear axle seal and basic maintenance stuff

231 swap will be taken care of shortly as well
