I normally build XJ's but I got a great deal. It was stock when I got it so far i have done a f to r swap with 3in rustys from an XJ up front. 32x9.5x15 S.S. TSL I also trimmed the front fenders.

Any tips or suggestions would be great.

Look into some adjustable arms to push the rear axle back and get it away from the rocker.

    Shit eater?

I didnt weld my fenders back together but don't tell anyone!

I've heard there is some automotive super ultra mega glue/sealer, if you could get some in between the two fenders, I bet it would be plenty strong. Or if you did the glue then rolled the fenders you'd be set

You could use seam sealer. Thats what I used to fill the gaps at the top.

X2, I was planning on doing something after I cut my rears too...(what something is idk) I was always under the impression that they had to be welded or something. Im not going to touch them unless I have to ...or want to repaint.

Oh two doors of a different colors, and a off color mirror, plus decent tires.. Mancard reinstated.

Question: how is the highway noise on those STT's? I plan on getting 33's somewhere down the road. The STT is my #1 pick for now.

The road noise is like a km2 or mtr. I really like them, they have been on my xj for awhile with no problems.

In the words of ATL ZJ: Keep cutting! Less is more!

What was your reason for the chop top? Most folks these days seem to be going for the "keep it or buggy it" mentality when it comes to the rear hatch...

Cool. Can you feel the unibody flexing or folding at all now with the top removed like that?

I think you can see it, look at the pic above your post, top of the passenger rear door is jammed tight whereas the bottom has like an 1" gap in it.

Cool nonetheless, i plan too chop the top on my purple shitbox someday soon.

The reason for the gap is the doors not shut all the way and it was flopped by its original owner when it was stock so the pillar has a slight bend in it. I plan on building a better cage soon putting in some frame stiffeners.

I looked at all the other pics you posted and the door fit fine in them. Not trying to be a dick here at all. But if its twisting a bit you can tell us we wont flame ya and Im sure there is more than enough knowledge here to help you get it straightened out.
