So right now my upper control arm mounts on the axle bottom out on the framerail around 3-4" of actual uptravel, but while flexing they miss and tuck inside. My question is, how little vertical seperation could I get away with while staying comfortable with the strength of the setup? I was thinking about dropping the bushing location of the mount an inch or a little more to obtain that uptravel, I would like that more than notching the rails
Aim for 25% of the tire diameter. In no case should vertical separation be less than 6". Preferably 7 or more.
Thanks for that info man, the 6-7" rang is what i feel like i had read before but wanted to get some confirmation. I'm a little worried im already close to that. When i used ballistic brackets they tucked the lca mount up flush with the bottom of the axle tube. Guess its time to get under there and do some measuring. Im not completely against reworking the framerails to aceive the uptravel, but it would be easier to do the mounts. Maybe i need to look into moving them side to side a little
Good news for me I have about 8 3/4" of vertical seperation. Looks like I'll be lowering my UCA mounts here in the nearish future
If you search google theres already reviews on this its been on ebay for a while. The guy who i read put it on his zj bent it first time out, I believe it was even said the v8 linkage was tougher and cheaper than this.
