Currently have been working on this for a little bit now, figured I would post some info on it.
It's a 1998 ZJ, 4.0L, with about 94k on it. Recent things done to it.
3.5 inch Rubicon Express
1 Inch CrawlerReady coil spacers
Hanson Front Bumper
Tabor winch
Cobra cb w/firestic antenna
31 inch Coopers
BDS steering stabilizer
Soild Diff Covers
Kevin's offroad sliders
New upgrades planned for 2010
Snorkel
Roof Rack
Rusty's Control Arms all around-fixed
Rusty's shock all around
Rusty's HD steering
Jet Chip
Redo exhaust with Banks Header, high flow cat and Rusty's exhaust system.
New speakers all around
31 Trxus Mts
Once Tyler lets me know and I send him the money, I will have a huge CrawlerReady sticker on the hood, like my XJ has.
Kevin's rear prerunner bumper w/tire swing
Thats pretty much all I can think of right now. I might actually ditch the whole Rusty's control arms and do a Clayton Long arm upgrade but its all about the cash. Let me know what you guys think.
Here is the link to the Grand Cherokee and my XJ. I havent figured out how to load pictures on here, if anyone could help me with that, that would be awesome.

Reason for the nickname down and dirty, its the name of my off road club. Check us out at ddoffroad.com
Why 4.5" of lift for 31s?
Just cuz, I didnt want to go real high like on my Cherokee and kind of wanted to keep everything simple, though that might change
Hes asking why you didnt do a budget boost and trim for 31s, and if he is not asking that I am, you said you didnt want to go real high
also that JET chip is a waste, the 4.0 is not going to gain much from it.
Also Rustys stuff sucks ass

X2 on the rustys stuff. I hate the control arms!
Wow, thanks a lot guys. Anyways, I understand people dont like the Jet chips but I like them, it actually showed when I installed one on my 98 XJ. The set up on the XJ is this....
Snorkel
Headers
high flo cat
Rusty's Exhaust system
Throttle body spacer
I then installed a Jet chip (stage 1) and noticed the difference even with that, so in my opinion I would use it on my ZJ.
As for the 4.5 inch lift, I went with that because well like I said, I wanted a little more height, more then what a bb would do and wanted 31s.
Rusty's, I have heard many things from people about Rusty's, either they love them or hate them. I have a Rusty's kit on my XJ, 6.5 inch, and never had a problem with any of it. They are also priced really well.
But everyone has right to their own opinion and thats why this hobby/sport is so cool, people may not like certain things but it may work well for others. I will keep everyone posted on the progress.....more photos soon.
cool thanks man.
Welcome to the forum Matt...er...I mean welcome to posting on the forum
I'll be getting more stickers within the next month!
What up Tyler! Hey wanted to know something about Aero exhaust. Do they make a muffler for the 4.0L or could you point me in the right direction, I have been thinking about Aero since I have seen a lot of guys running that muffler, including yourself. Anyways, thanks for the heads up on the stickers and hopefully you can get your ZJ up and running again and make a trip out to Illinois this year, I think you would like the Badlands and the Cliff's.
Yeah, the 2525 would be the ideal muffler for the 4.0L. It's got a 2.5" inlet/outlet. Here is an XJ that I installed one on a while back. http://www.youtube.com/user/1991xj#p/u/16/HrusXQANEJY
I've got a few in stock so just let me know . $115 shipped to anywhere in the lower 48 for you peeps.

Awesome thanks man and I'll let you know on that exhaust. Probably will be sending you $115 very soon
that's probably close to the best i've ever heard a 4.0 sound.
also, paging cody....
If you really want to see a major difference in the 4.0 do a mild build. I built mine for about 1000 bucks, the machine work and cam is key.
Although my XJ is a lot lighter than a built ZJ
Just ordered the Rusty's HD steering, Rusty's lower rear control arms and a new winch line-synthetic
I have had nothing but good things come from Rusty's to be honest with you.
I knew someone was going to page Cody on this one.
Yea x2 unless you like them to go whizzing by your head after they break and go through your windshield or backglass
I know, I took the strap off and the hooks off, totally forgot that strap had hooks on it, lol.
Added a roof rack to the Project D&D, pictures soon. Found it on cl for $200, couldnt pass it up
Small things to do this weekend on the list.
Install new speakers
Install Rusty's lower front control arms
Install Rusty's rear lower control arms
Also planning on ordering a Kevin's rear bumper on friday
Here are a few pictures of the roof rack that I installed earlier this week. Working on the wiring for the fog lights that will be installed on the rack. Should be a busy weekend.
