Edmunds lists the curb weight of '95 as 3569 lbs, '96 as 3790 lbs and the '98 5.9 as 4261 lbs. They incorrectly do not show a V8 for the limited for all of these years.

    haahaha thats pretty funny

I was always under the impression that ZJs weighed around 4400lbs. Are they really just shy of 4k lbs stock??? If so, then that's actually very light in my book.

Haha one cannot even begin to forget a thread of this quality.

As for the tech aspect of this thread, how the hell is a 96+ era ZJ so much heavier than an earlier model? I dont know of many drastic changes that would explain this.

Jeep ZJ Produced from 1993-1995 Curb Weight: 3574 lbs

Jeep ZJ Produced from 1996-1998 Curb Weight: 3926 lbs.

I, being one of the newer guys around here feel it is important, almost as if it were my duty, to keep this thread alive to help advance the technical knowledge of newbs all around the world. I cant imagine the suffering they must face daily not knowing how adding tube work, and tires, or removing doors, and trimming sheet metal can effect their GVWR. I mean these poor ignorant guys go through life innocently thinking that changes to their GC have no effect on something as important as the manufacturer's suggested GVWR, its sad really!
