Chad, if there is any way to get "The Power of Love" to play when you open this thread, I think it would add a lot. Or at least the booming part of the score that plays when the clocktower gets struck. /spoiler

Looks really good Chad. Do you have a brake or did you buy that piece already bent?

    Thanks.

It is a new Ballistic Fab part.

Halfdoc used the 9" one for his front nine inch. I told him he needs one for the rear to replace the James Duff one.

Using a WWII era lathe to make the aluminum links. They used to make gun barrels with this lathe. A lot of history.

This was a tough four link. Such a short rear driveline. Had to point the pinion up high at almost 30 degrees. The rear steer is acceptable at about three inches. Marty is bound by the drivelines. The cv's won't take all the extension of the suspension. The front isn't as bad as the rear.

Shock hoops, rear sway bar and the mandatory x brace in the cage are my left items to complete.

What is the wheelbase? Stock motor and trans?

I'm jealous of that link material.

I can't weld vertical down for the life of me, I always get a buildup...going up pointed slightly up is supposed to give better penetration anyways right?

that's kind of what i was getting at. I can't weld vertical up for shit, every time it starts dripping and running, i just say fuggit and weld vertical down and get an absolutely gorgeous bead out of it much like that pic, which is why i was curious.

yes, vertical up is supposed to be a better weld, you put more heat in. vertical down you kind of out-run the puddle and get a colder weld.

It is pretty difficult to fight gravity by pushing the puddle vertically up.
I pull down, I just turn the wire speed down a bit.

Here is a photo of what it looks like with speed at like 35ish..

Sorry to add a picture to your thread chad, the TJ is look awesome.
