Rattlesnake Gutter 10/3/09

went out on saturday with my friend in his xj and squashman in his zj. all in all a good day, though we spent most of the morning putzing around looking for the trailhead. hope to head out there again soon and check out the side trails. here are my pics, i think dave has some more.

the gutter itself. pictures dont show it well, its about twice this long, and all uphill. definetely a fun section.


























only 'carnage' of the day, i spun a wheel inside the tire, and almost unseated the bead. we filled it back to about 15psi, and it was all set.

Is that public or private land? Just curious because I wouldn't have expected any public land to be open in the NE -- there is nothing here in Western NY.

Public. There are a fair number of decent trails left in Western Mass.

The Gutter is private land but the owner graciously allows access. Area clubs have worked with the landower to secure permission to use this land. Adhere closely to Tread Lightly principles (as always) when wheeling the Gutter. This area has been threatened with closure before due to yahoo's going in there and wheeling irresponsibly.
