Pretty sure you pay when you get there. Cam?
You pay at the snack shack at the trail head in the morning before hitting the trails.
I might be up for some wheeling Friday late morning to dark.
How long are folks planning to wheel on Sunday?
Like I said before, there are too many unknowns for me (mainly weather related) to commit until a few days before anyways, but just trying to assess my options. I'm giving serious consideration now that folks are talking about wheeling on Friday...
I am for sure wheeling on friday. It is about 8 hours for me so I plan on heading out about noon on thursday, arriving that night (me, pat, my brother, his passenger) and camping or something thursday night.
I have talked to Cam about wheeling on friday and so far, he is down. I hope we can get some more people to come out early.
I want to wheel all day friday, all day saturday, then roll out sunday about noonish to get back to Richmond at a good time.
Weather is a big deal to me, because I don't like wheeling in the rain. But for the scale of this trip, and who all is going, and it being a new place, I dont care what the weather will be. It will be an experience that I will deal with whatever happens. If it rains, it rains and it will be cold, but there is probably a better chance on it snowing if anything.
Since Windrock is only 3 hours from home for me, I'll wheel til at least 2 or 3pm on sunday, if not til dark. As long as my rig is still together of course. Last year, some of us wheeled til mid afternoon and then headed home.
I will be getting back from an out of town trip on that Thursday. I'll try to make it there in time for some wheelin' on Friday as it's only about 3 hours from my place. I'm guessing if I wheel part of the day on Friday than I'll probably skip out on Sunday or vice versa.
It looks like its about a 10 hour trip for me so I guess i'll leave thur wheel fri and sat and roll out sunday.
we are gonna wheel sunday and roll out monday
i am definitely interested in going. not staying in the cabin though. i will probably just get a hotel room friday night and maybe saturday night. depending on who rides with me.
we are undecided right now about where we are staying. It depends on how many people come with us, right now we got 2 rigs in our group and 4 people but there will probably be more coming with us.
Early friday morning. The doors are off the jeep and the roof should be coming off next week if I have time to work on it.
I'm gonna try and change it and leave on thursday but I'm not sure if I can yet.
Really? Guess we'll see what we get done this weekend. Past what we already have planned. If we can work on your rig some as well...I'm game! First things first though.
My attendance at GSSE winter is looking slim at this point! Hopefully things will change but I doubt it at this time.
This is the snack shack/pay area
and here are some more trail pics
Get those regs in!

Not only does Windrock have some sweet wheeling spots, it makes for a great scenic trail ride too.
Yezzir, Xterra on BFG AT KO's 33's (and a lot mo!).
I just pushed the 5.9 outside, so my friend can pick it up on my ol' flatbed, fix the no-reverse issue, and hopefully I can use it to pull the Samurai there. If I come across a truck to tow with, I'll probably bring the buggy, though, in its current state of disaray...
