Ok here's the deal:
Texas 4 Wheel Drive Organization's Houston Chapter is organizing the 8th or 9th "Fall Run" to take place at Barnwell Mountain Recreational Area, in Gilmer, TX. That is about 2-1/2 hrs east of Dallas and a good 4-1/2 or 5 hrs north of Houston.
For those of you not familiar with this place it was mapped and rated by the same people that did Superlift Park in Hot Springs, AR.
The website is here:
http://houston4wd.org/fallrun09
and the official banner with the link:
They have trails rated from 1 to 5, most of them being on the 3 and 4.
There's fun for every rig out there, and every driver's skill.
So you get an idea here's some pictures from last year's Fall Run http://houston4wd.org/Houston/Housto...ll_Run_08.html and this year's Mega Run http://houston4wd.org/Houston/Other_...egarun_09.html .
I think it would be pretty cool if we get a few Grands and start what could be somewhat of a GS Texas?.
Let me know if there's any interest.

Sounds fun to me. Where do you normally ride in the Houston area?
Count me in on this, whether the Heep is ready or not, I'll go out there and ride or spot.
I'll be living in Colorado by then and hopefully NOT deploying again. I'll try to make this event for sure!
I'm going to the Grand Slam in Sedona the first weekend in October but since Gilmer is only 3 hours from me, I might try this one also. I have been wheeling there for the last 4 years and would make a good place for a Texas based Grand Slam.
Registration is now OPEN!!!!!
Registered.
Haha I like how 'yes' under confirmed is in all caps.
I'm gonna do my best to get out there.
talk some shit to Jon when i get good and drunk, maybe he'll blow up another ring gear
Heep will be towed out there, so why not.
hell yea!
shotty btw.. calling it now.
better than being stranded... right jon?
Get a tow rig, we'll split on a gooseneck, and then you can bring the Ranger out there.
C'mon guys, gotta get more Grand Cherokees registered for this!
Just in case anyone missed it, here's the registration site: http://houston4wd.org/fallrun09/fall..._Fall_Run.html
It's also posted in the first post of this thread.
More than likely I'll be in for the run. I'll check this weekend if I will be available and post up Monday. It would be good to go somewhere different.
Need more Grand Cherokees!
Ok guys:
The date is fast approaching and so far there's only TWO Grands registered to go... as usual plenty of wranglers, even 7 Toy-otas, but two grands????
Registration closes Sunday 27th.
It is a great park, great weather this time of the year, and could be the beginning of a GST, but with only two not so much....
