Alright me and a few buddies ran Slickrock and Deer Valley for the first time, got home tonight. The trip was a blast! Slickrock was a little easy for my taste but we had some fun with the Ladder for sure. Deer Valley is what really made the trip worth it, that trail is badass. Day 1 we left, got to slickrock (3.5 hours?), ran through it and camped near the ladder. The next morning we ran the ladder again to play around a bit, then ran the trail backwards and ran through Deer Valley, then camped again and ran Deer Valley backwards so we ran both trails both ways.
I'm workin on uploading all the pics right now, so I just have a few on my myspace to tide you guys over. I also ahve a vid of me taking the left line on ladder, and almost rolling my truck right after haha. I am in DEFINATE need of rear limiting straps, if the drivetrain gets bound up a little on an akward angle the dub has a new habit of lifting a front tire HARD (it never did this before inboarded shocks). I also had the problem of dropping my coil 3 times haha, whoops.

Our camping spot the second night, near the end of the Deer Valley trail.
All in all the trip was really good. No real breakages (I lost a nut on a rear shock, and then just the springs falling out.) This is my first time wheelin rocks with the swampers, and I must say I am in love. Atleast compared to my MTR's, these things just work. I also pushed the limits of my truck a little more than I used to, getting more confident in the strength of my drivetrain and protection. The D44a is showing no signs of letting up!

Alright heres one video, I didn't realize the cam was recording on low quality =(. This is running the left line of the ladder, and at the top I almost do something dumb lol. Watch how crazy that rear axle acts without a limiting strap.

It looks like that rear brake line is acting as a limiting strap.

I always enjoy Deer Valley as well. Its got just enough spots that you can take a hard line and have fun on, but also enough room that the mild trucks can make it through as well. Me and a buddy ran it from Rte 4 to the valley and back to Rte 4 (camped in the same spot as you) the weekend after Memorial Day. It was raining and their was still snow on the trail, so that added a whole new element that really made it a blast.
Absolutely gorgeous country up there and I've never been there and seen more than a couple people out.

That looks more like the rear diff vent. On the WJ the brake line comes back from where the OEM UCA mounts.Originally Posted by slim616

Ryan is right, it's the rear diff breather. I actually pulled it off once haha whoops.
Goldsend, that trail IS super nice, having the whole thing wet would definately mix things up a bit. Unfortunately right now is mosquito season and they were out in force on both trails. Even with bug spray we got ate up but oh well, it was totally worth it.

Yeah, gotta love the claytons! Haha the end of the video you can see the rear axle pointing all sorts of directions
