I found a trailer, then found a buddy willing to haul the ranger out there, I was expecting some major carnage but didn't really mess too much up.
anywho.
Closing weekend!
Amazing.. best wheelin trip to date.
I left my tires at 25psi and hardly slipped the tires, they only slipped if they were wet, but they still hooked up like a mofo!
My carnage:
-tweaked the hell out of the trans cross member
-another warn.. i think it was full of **** from the lake still
-broke the steering intermediate shaft under the dash-- FACTORY PART..twice, horrible fucking design.
-stripped out the threads on the ball joint part of the one ton TRE on the pitman arm
-both axles are leaking like sives
-diff cover and d44 took a custom shaving..
-had to replace the rear u-joint cause it was mad tickin, no grease, I blame that on the trip to the lake.
lessons learned. granite is some nasty shit! square DS ate some rock , i STILL need a rear locker or spool. I even let the right foot have some fun and didn't break a shaft.
The front spool wasnt THAT bad on the rocks, i thought i was gonna have to unlock hubs to turn, but for the most part I just left them locked in.
here's some pics, the guy who took a ton of my truck won't have them uploaded for a while.

one of the few times I almost flopped.. I thought FOR SURE it was going over, that pass. tire was all of about 2" away from that rock before the truck came back and settled down
I came down this wedge, the video is uploading to youtube.
the video of my comin through this crack is uploading. Jon came out friday, Jfowlz95? He had to leave saturday morning for a wedding, he missed a ton of good action..
very sad its closed, i had never wheeled my ranger there and come today at like noon i REALLY didn't want to leave.. Rumor has it that the people are looking at land that butts up against that land, and the lease of the new land encompasses the back side of the current park so a few trails wills till be open.
It was great for the short time I was there, really wish I could've taken the ZJ on the trails (no 2wd wheelin ). Had to leave early Saturday morning for a wedding that night then all day Sunday I've been driving to California to help my cousin move, in Blythe, CA right now should be in the bay area tomorrow.
But it's ashame that they're closing this place down, this is the perfect place to spend a wheelin weekend in Texas.
I'll post the pics I have when I'm not that tired.

Here's the pics I got, not many but I was only there Friday. Have some good shots of the storm we got Friday night.
Exo-cage F-250 on rockwells and rear steer.
Matt hating his Ranger...
The storm coming in...
Thats pretty cool. NOBODY around here wheels a pickup. Seems like you guys have a bunch that do.
Is that anywhere near Enchanted Rock? It looks like similar terrain, I should have headed out there! Too bad that exo is such an ugly burnt orange color
Oh yeah, Jon bring some of that rain down to Houston! It's miserable down here.
ignore like the first half, i should have edited it out.

really? Everyone that doesn't have a jeep down here wheels some sort of truck, mainly Toyotas.. that and K5s are pretty popular.
what do you mean? the only video i had up was my little poser one, the tire was slipping (pos posi) and i wasn't moving very fast if thats what you mean?
but yea, its time.. Wait for me to get some more videos, i had the truck wedged up between a behind my pass. rear tire and my front diff, it wasn't going anywhere and i just had smoke rolling out of the bell housing
Rangers have a real bad rep for the slave cylinder too, and mines going out so i need to replace that at the same time. Nice thing about a clutch is the labor is the expensive part, and being a mechanic i can skip that cost
not to mention the storm just parked its ass on top of us.
