    What they said.
Krash80: And my trailer weighs 8,000 lbs empty.
CurtP: What does your house have to do with any of this?

I guess what I'm getting at is how easily it can be made to work on the bed of a pickup truck.
I've seen them mounted over the bed on a few Tacomas. The tent is roughly 12"Hx48"Wx71"D when folded up and inside is 71x94. We were a little nervous about the strength of the tent at first, but after climbing in and out a few times I'm surprised at how sturdy it feels.

I few of the guys I run with have them on pickups. One has it roof mounted, and the other has a rack that holds it about 18" above the top of the bed.

Here are a couple quick pics

Is it mounted that high for storage reasons? Or is there a minimum height it needs to be mounted for the ladder it has? I've passively been looking for something like a toned down version of this for my tow rig to simplify setting up camp.

Mostly for access. The ladders are adjustable.

The ladder on mine can be adjusted from about 4' to maybe 7.5', there's also an extension available.
