Test fit the coils, the bolts turned out to be the perfect size for the application. Mounts will be burned on this weekend, and the axle will one step closer!

Got the axle home and started painting it, tomorrow I'll work on pulling the old axle bearings and order some new bolts for the flange adapter.

Most likely I'll order a pack of these bolts (M12x1.75 25mm long):

Yeah I think it might just be the pic, it looks different from what I remember when we were setting it up. It looked to have a really good angle (~10*) when we were setting it up.

Small update, changed out the fuel filter following maxx's writeup, and removed the rear swaybar. If anyone has a zj with the external fuel filter (and haven't replaced it yet), do it. It's easy, costs $12, and takes 10 min. When I took my old one out, the fluid that came out of it was brown/red, so it was in need of being replaced. I cut it open and it was bad on the inside too.

Oh, and I haven't noticed ANY difference on the street without the rear swaybar. I tried throwing the heep around a few corners in the neighborhood and didn't notice anything, so it looks like it'll be staying out.

    Wheeling tomorrow!

Pff needing a write up to do the fuel filter.

Cut up my 8.8 carrier to make the ABS work, axle is pretty much done besides assembly and brakes. I drove back to campus from home, heard a clunking every time I got to 70mph. I'm pretty sure it's the exhaust though. I got to campus and the exhaust pipe is resting on the crossmember. Turns out it's cracked at the y-pipe, will check it out more tomorrow.

    Yup, gotta love the V8's....

I was gonna use this as an opportunity to redo the exhaust, but I'm leaning more towards taking it to the exhaust guy and having him sleeve it or something and close it back up. It'll be a hell of a lot cheaper, saving me some $$ that I'll need on upcoming repairs.

It's not louder, just a different kinda sound. It's mainly just annoying on the highway. As soon as I get to 70 or so, the tailpipe starts bouncing off the crossmember.

Sucks man. Probably in your best interest instead of spending the extra cash in customizing the exhaust, to just get it welded back together

BUT, its a good excuse for something new lol

Some Thorley headers and a coffee can muffler would be nice.

Hey David, I'll weld that up for you using that little flux-core welder.

We'll see. I'm not gonna drop the cash for headers/the works lol.

I dunno if I'd even trust welding EXHAUST with that thing!

Could be bad motor mounts causing it.
