All the other forums allow it. I know vbulletin supports it. It's easy to embed youtube videos, encourages people to watch videos that could otherwise be missed, and keeps people on the site without forcing them to navigate away.
Dave's call. The softare didn't support it when we moved to vbulletin, hence it being turned off by default. Dave owns / runs the site, I only host it, so it's his call (I say this 'cause I know I'm going to get PM'd about it if I don't)
Last time I talked to Dave about it he said no.
vBulletin kinda supports it. The concern has always been malicious software along with the videos, since the easiest way to do it is to allow videos from ANY site. After doing some really quick research, it appears that there is a way to allow only videos from YouTube, but the actual embedding part of it is a little trickier. Let me look into it a bit. Also, the first person who embeds Rick Roll gets the ban stick!!!

O'Doyle RULZ!
we can't post exact instructions because the forum will think it's the code and not show the text.
but first do this
[yt.] (omit the period)
then JUST the funky letters at the end of the youtube vid. such as this: E14kNqMwD6s
then [/yt.] (again omit the period)
Remove the period from the "yt" and that is the code to embed video.
[yt.]E14kNqMwD6s[/yt]
