dude, awesome dub. just read your entire thread. i like it a lot!

question, i saw you replaced your upper CA axle bushings with JJ's, does that transmit more vibes to the body? and what size is the joint? im at school and my jeep is at home taken apart so i cant go measure real quickly. im about to begin a hp30 build and saw that and became interested

no more vibes to the body.. wouldn't have noticed the change, other than my old bushings were shot, so the axle rotated back and forth.

I have only done 1 side thus far. The passenger side has a weld in mount that i ahven't done yet. I guess it will twist off the factory sheet metal mount since they don't deflect like the stock bushings do.

I will get that other one on there one of these days, but for now its not really doing anything. Its almost like a 3 link... since the other one is soo worn out, its not doing much.

Good luck making all that fit with stock axles. And your frame rails are wider than the TJ's to start with. Standard anti rock is the way to go.

i called them and got measurements before i ordered it. It will clear the frame rails, and the JK versions have 12" levers, which is the same as what the stock bar has. I will just have to fab up bushing mounts for it.. the anti rocks are great, but a little too soft for a daily driver. i had one on my tube crawler.

I spent all day yesterday getting the shocks mounted. Here are the pics:

Laser cut mounts: (made from .188 4130 sheet)

I made a gusset doubler plate on the back upper.. probably pointless, but oh well.

    Here are the front uppers:

Front Lower: (I cut out the factory one)

The longest part was cutting off the rear lowers. That was a serious pain, since they are located in between the rear control arm mounts. I had to use a saws-all, die grinder, 90 deg grinder, and a 4" grinder to get it all cut off..

OK please tell me you have the front upper coil mount plates in a pattern

And when you finish the Sway bar mounts I will be interested since I am using the same

i do.. i actually cut some extras.. let me see what i have left... i will give you what ever i have left. They don't fit totally perfect, but close enough to burn them in with no issues.. I cut a couple of the back ones with no holes incase they didn't line up correctly too.

i will plan on making 2 of the sway-loc mounts.. i should get it next week! it will be easier to make them both at the same time for us.. so it will be an x-mas present for ya!

Why did you mount the lower shock mounts so low instead of cutting into the rear hatch and moving the upper shock mounts higher? Those shock mounts are loooowwww.

Maybe its the angle the pic is taken at. It doesnt look like it will hang any lower than the lca mount once the truck is sitting on the ground? IDK?

they are only down 1", and they are close to the tires. I made them beefy so they will take some abuse if they get hung up. This is a daily driver, less crawler, so to me the trade off wasn't worth all the extra work of cutting into the rear hatch area, and making towers etc.

Cool nice work as always. Have you started fabbing a truss yet? Mines almost ready. Knowing you though, you'll build some space age looking one out of titanium that hovers the axle over obstacles and makes mine look lame. LOL

you could just run a small piece of boxed up between the LCA and shock mounts to bridge that gap, brace it, and that will eliminate that rock target between the two mounts...and strengthen the mounts (even if its overkill)
