New season. new mods.
Wheel base will be shortend to 103" from 109"
suspension geometry will be set-up for 37-39" not 42's
the seats will be 2" lower. the roof will be 5-6" lower
-new lines on the roof will have a more lay'd down windsheild and the roof will be 6" narrower then the door bars.
back half of the cage is 2' shorter then before. and it is significantly lighter.
18" Air Shocks are goign to be swapped out for 14" coil overs. the rear will have 3" more up travel then before as well.

oh the exhaust will be re done to wrap in front of the oil pan and have one single 2.5" tube running under the drivers seat. This shoudl allow 6-8" more leg room per person in the front.
and a standard remote cooler with fan will be added in the rear for the hydro system. it will be as large as the tranny one helping it run ice cold!!
keep in mind with all these mods. the chassis was originally designed to be able to be a 3-4 seater. but that idea was FAWKED from the start. what was i thinking.
ya all new skins too. gotta keep the ZJ lookign nice!!!
hahahah
oh DAVE/MATT
i need some Mallcrawlin stickers for this shit!!!
It's been way too long since I've ridden in the kraq-mobile. Bring it GSW this year.
Also, what thickness tube was that original chassis? It is trashed!
EDIT: BTW, is that an auto tranny I spy in those pics? What happened to the SM435?
the SM465 went out with the old buggy.
the tube that on ther eis 1.75" 0.120" DOM i'm pritty hard on my junk.
i dont' know about GSW.
i have 4 events here spread abotu a month apart and one KORRBC race. Similar to chapmionship offroad racing with trophy trucks. except i'll be doign it in my buggy hahaha.
this is the general idea
Sweet, I'm going with 14" coilovers all around myself. But jumpin up the WB from 104" to 108". What are you thinkin on total up travel now?
As was mentioned in Cam's thread, some of us need to get together and wheel sometime.
Awesome kris. That's a lot of work. How much lighter do you think it will be?
i dont know. what i took off weights abotu 100LB
what i put in its place weights abotu 20LB.
the CO's will add some more weight. but the roof should lower it abit. I'm stocked because i can get my battery under the seat down low. get my suck down winsh in place. just all in all a beter design and better fit.
Awesome! Now looking at other websites, I see folks switching TO air shocks. Just curious why you are going coilovers to replace the air shocks -- or is it just a sponsor thing?
most guys go AS for the weight savings.
i woudl stick to AS if i was rock crawlign only but this summer i have quite a few rock races and even a desert race with the rig.
my original plan was to swap the 18" AS to 14" ones (18 was to much travel) but someone offered to take my 18's for a set of re built 14.5" doeschtech CO's with ooils and dual rate kits.
i couldn't say no.
G-Tech and Geek came out to help.
ok so the WB was 108.5"
it now sits at 102-3/8". amazing diference on how sharp it tunrs. feels so quick and nimble.
the tube we took off was heavy as shit. me and Geek were huffin and puffin carrying it to the dumpster. and the tube i put in its place i could easily carry. basically 2/3 of a stick of tube.
Did soem maintinace. tightend some bolts. found my winch is broken/cracked. i wonder if thats a warranty item.
so here it is.
Why does this remind me of when you back halfed the ZJ?
cause i just back halfed a ZJ???????/ Buggy.....lol
i dont know. but this ZJ will work much better the the previouse one.
