finally starting to com together
Yay finally got my D44a Diff Skid I got a pretty dang good deal on it too Since it was the last and only one left
Heres the latch
Looks pretty damn good to me! Not sure if I am too fond of the way the tire is offcentered. But hey if your happy i am happy. And its deff better then it being on the roof. Looking forward to see what else you have in store.
honestly I like it offcenter to the driver side this way I can look over my shoulder and can still see out the window
Got the sides one ....
Looks sick. Just saw the painted pix on the Reno4x4 site.
That looks great, can't wait to see it mounted up painted!
What are the specks on the tubing you are using for your bumper? looks good
here are some wheeling pics from Sunday
I also beat the crap out of my diff skid ... this thing is crap
Looks good, hit the bumper on anything?
right on.. looks great.
g-
that diff skid is crap. did the bolts on the cover break or pull out?
Lol, causing a traffic jam so you can get a poser pic
Can't expect much from an aluminum diff. Especially when you put a good ammount of the weight of the jeep on only a 4 bolts. In a normal case I would expect it to hold up better.
Time to head back to Dr. Smash for a weld on skid/truss for the 44.
Thanks guys
Yeah I think I bumped it a couple times on some rocks but can't seem to find a scratch yet ..
it pulled all the bolts out
Yeah im thinking about going to the Dr. for a skid/truss for the 44a. that would be awesome but im trying to save up for a front bumper :P
Well I finally got my diff cover for my front D30 .. this is very nice can't wait to install it
I also stayed up till like 3am trying to get as much stuff done as possible ... tried installing sway bar but turns out i got the wrong bolts try installing steering stabilizer turns out mine was still good so im going to do a dual SS.
After school I also went to Homedepot real quick to try to get some stuff so I could mount my Air compressor . I got a 2x4 3/4 piece of wood and I cut it up to fit the back and screwed the spare tire cover on to the wood . Then I got some flat metal and mounted the air compressor to the piece of wood .
My plan for this is that im going to build some sort of drawer to the right of the compressor and mount some handles so I can lift up the spare tire cover and the wood so I can access the storage area ..... What do you guys think ?
Any input would be appreciated

So the air compressor is on the wood which is attached to the spare tire cover. Did you make any attachments to the outter solid part of the floor? Seems like that would be a good idea to make some hook or latch system just in case of a roll over. Your friends in the back seat would be very unhappy to have the compressor where their head was...
yeah im actually going to liner the wood
Had to pull my buddy's 76 Blazer on 35's out of a rocky canyon last night since he broke his steering ... I also banged up the bumper quite a bit and it held up really really nice .. also the air compressor held up nice from rock crawling
That's the most that rig has ever been wheeled. Keep it up.
Well a friend and I tried to install my Aussie locker on my D44a finally and of course we ran into problems since this was our first time installing a locker ... but we followed a pretty good write up from http://jeephorizons.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=53113
Yay Aussie locker !!!
Here is with the diff cover and the cross pin out .
We pulled the axle shafts out just a tad and spider gears came off with out a problem .. took us a while to figure out that WJ's don't have c-clips but ZJ's do lol !!!
I figure while the diff cover was off I should add some flavor to it
