Is anyone talking about doing anything for this year?
My wife and I decided that we would like to come and run the Rubicon Trail this year. And what better way to do it than with other Grands. We've already started pulling together the funds. Just curious if its been thought about yet.

When are you thinking about doing this? I would love to run the Rubicon one day, and this year may be a good one for me to do that...

You can bet we will be running it. Haven't talked with Ron in a little while, but I am sure he is planning for it. I believe we have ran it a weekend or two after Labor day that last few years. The first year I ran with him there was also a Toyota event that made it a little crowded, so he has been trying to avoid that weekend as well.

Do hope more people plan to make it this year, as it would be great to make it through with a bigger group of people with us.

    Whenever it gets planned

I would really like to run the trail before the Greenies get it closed.
Met Ron my first year at GSW and he was a great guy. Looking forward to meeting up again.
I think its usaully near the start of September. I'm pretty much good to go if someone gets it planned.

I would love to make this run, and I am fairly sure I can make it in Sept, so I will start planning in that direction now.

I would also like to make this trip. I am a bit bumbed out as I will be missing GSW09 this year due to a Tranny issue that will not be fixed in time.

This would be a good replacement for Moab.

Sorry to hear that you have to miss out on GSW09. I know the feeling- I can not attend as well. Two years in a row really sucks!
Hope to see ya at GSR09 in Sept. its still on!

I'd say 33"s and a locker with protection and probably 6" of lift...expect damage.

Just a note for you guys, I would NOT try to make the run the weekend after labor day, the Marlin Crawler rubicon run is happening September 13th, the weekend after labor day. Damn...september may turn into another hell of a month of wheelin for me! Got Barrett lake again for the labor day weekend, I'm riding shotgun for the Marlin run then this after? SNAP!

I'm in for this run whenever it's scheduled for. Seems like it could be Sept 18th through 20th do avoid all the crowds...

I may be out on this trip, when I broke my axleshaft this weekend a chunk took out part of one of the carrier bearings, I don't know how fast I'll have it fixed or if I want to stop putting money into it and go to another axle

Well gang it looks like no GSR-2009. We will have to get together next year. I have a major house project going on that will still take the next couple of months and I have not been able to put the trip together or get ready for it.
Hope everyone had a great summer, I can't believe its frickin over already!
See you at GSW or GSR next year.
