Ok, just picked up a Detroit locker for my 9". Turns out the lockers part number comes back to the circle track version. I couldn't find much info relating to the differences between a standard Detroit locker and the circle track version, but I did find where you can buy replacement springs. The recommended spring for the dirt track cars is soft (25 lb rate). I'm guessing that this lower resistance will keep the locker locked more??????

There are replacement springs in 58, 68, and 79 lb rates...would the stiffer spring equal better on-road characteristics?

No harder springs, means the more locking force your Detroit will have. That locker will "give" more.
