Pics don't do it justice, but that pit is pretty crazy. I remember getting sideways there a few times when it would rain.
BTW, those bumpers are older than Jesus and still look good!
Thanks guys, I had a blast and the 16 year old ZJ did awesome! That pit was awesome, first time I had the jeep nose down with the passenger rear tire completely up in the air.
What are the dimensions of the square tubing used for your rear bumper?
I like the design, simple but it looks good.
I wish I knew, I did not build them, they were made by Carolina Rock Shop, and I don't think they are making them any more.
I believe hes at Fab Fours now, and I also believe the number on CRS website is still good to get in touch with him.
That would be a good reason why they don't make them any more haha
Just a little pic to show what is going on the jeep next (thanks Maxx!)
Nice! Make sure you paint a stripe or something one of the brackets so you don't get them mixed up.
Maxx, I haven't done that yet, but the brackets are good right now right? You just mean going forward right? Or have a phucked up already?
there is a driver and passenger door bracket. Just make sure you install em the way they came, or they wont fit, which means you would just have to unbolt em and flip em around or something.
I would Just draw an arrow pointing up on each one and write P or D on them. Just so you don't have to unbolt em more than necessary because of a wrong bracket on the wrong way or wrong side.
Gotcha, they are easy to tell which one is which right now, I will mark them before I take the doors off the brackets.
I'll get some pictures with them on (probably on Wednesday).
Got the tube doors on
Very nice, but why yellow?
nice
LOL, yellow is because eventually the jeep is going to be all black, and my college colors were black and yellow, so a little tribute. Also, because everyone asks "why yellow"
Everything else on the jeep is flat black, so I figured this would be a nice change
Went to Uwharrie today, and loved every minute of it again. Not too many pics, but a few.
what kind of paint did you use for your grill insert?
First go round I used some random flat black spray paint can I had laying around. That flaked off in a matter of months, so the second time I wet sanded it just a little, then shot it with some spray apint specifically for plastic, then for the second coat I used the same flat black I used on the rest of stuff.
Went to Uwharrie this past weekend in the mud. I tore off my driver sideview mirror, busted my passenger tail light, and ripped the plastic cladding off the driver side. All in all a great time! haha
Anyone have a mirror for sale?
