Howsit everybody. Newbie to the forum, not to wheeling or wrenching. Great site minimal BS, great builds lots of useful info. Had a 94 wrangler, 2.5L 4cly 6 in lift 33in mudders welded rear great fun. Right now I own 93 black on black 5.2L Grand Cherokee limited ZJ and a 1966 Mustang coupe. I love the Jeep and I am looking to build up a tough trail rig and reliable D/D. Jeeps got 137000 miles on runs strong, did a full tune up and new aluminum radiator. I would like to go six inches overall of lift and a 33in mud terrain tire. I would like to know if any of you have any used springs, spacers, shocks, quick disconnects, drop pitman arms or any non-used items in you garage that you would be able to part with for a fair price. I live on the island of Oahu and things are wayyy too expensive. I am happy to pay the shipping costs. Any suggestions as to where to start with the build, shoot. I am bone stock and with all the resources and knowledge here I am an open book. Aloha Blake. Email me at cullum@hawaii.edu about parts.
if i were going 6 inches up in the air i'd want more than 33s... more like 35s, but not on stock axles
You can clear 33s with about 3 inches of lift, bumpstops, and some trimming. It will save a lot of headaches/ expenses that come with 6 inches of lift, at least when done right and be a hell of a lot more stable. Plus 6" lifts look goofy with 33s, unless you're going for the huge lift little tire HI look. Just my .02
Mahalo dude! I use to live near Pearl Harbor on Red Hill. Hawaii is an awesome place to wheel but that mean ass red mud is annoying to wash off! This stuff will stain a white paint job like crazy.
Aloha, hows this years pakalolo doing?
For 33's i would grab some 3 inch springs, front and rear track bars, shocks, and some discos. Very simple and functional. You may have to trim a bit, but getting to 6" on a zj will leave a huge hole in your pocket.
Crops are as good as ever with all this rain cuz!
3inches with a little fender well modification sounds like the wise decision.
