The truck started out stock.. bone stock, like i basically got it from some old guy.
I had tons of plans.. but went the opposite direction for the most part.
here's how it sits now..
and here's the story.
I ended up doing a 3" PA Body lift and some 285/75-16 Nitto Terra Grapplers
then an Aussie locker
and a skid plate after i smacked the radiator on a rock.
Then I did the 5" RCD lift with 35x12.50 MTZs and 15x8" Classic IIs
and a 9,000 lb winch and custom winch plate, along with my 2 favorite pics of all time.
After destroying the IFS hard core, i decided to SAS it. here's some specs
FW HP D44 from a '78 F-150 - Spooled with 5.13s
FW 9" from an '85 F-150 - Stock open diff with 3.50s(ish)
Waggy springs
95 4Runner steering box
Mile Marker Manual hubs
12" 5125 Bilsteins
TG Shock hoops
Some heims, tubing, flat stock and a lot of time later..
here's a more indepth build thread as well.
http://www.therangerstation.com/foru...ad.php?t=32120
I split the carrier on my 8.8 so the 9" went in sooner than intended..
and the blocks were temporary, now all the lift i have is some stock springs and the huge shackles.
Its not much, but its a good start
Ya'll have seen these pics probably, but w/e.. first trip sas'd
Now I have
-some 25" Limit straps for the front
-ruff stuff front diff cover
-sliders made from 2x3x3/16
-started making a front bumper but ran out of tube.
-built an anti-wrap bar for the rear axle which surprisingly hasn't bent in half yet (1.25x.120 dom is all i could get locally on short notice)
-dove tail is more or less done, as done as its gonna get atleast, i cut the tail gate down and put a floor back in it.
-replaced the rear window
a cage is next on the list.. just need about a grand for tubing and a bender
My list of carnage is real long..
I still want a front 60 and either a FF 9" or just keep it semi float with 35 spline shafts but either way its getting disc brakes. Probably go up to 37s or 38s.. maybe just 36s when i get a 60, once its solely a toy i'll go full hydro and the front's gonna get linked when i get time and money to do so.

Nice Truck
thanks man, its got a ways to go.. but its also come a long ways since the days it used to tow the smoker to the town BBQ ha
You shouldnt of wasted your time on the SAS and machined a bender instead. hahaha im only kidding. Just glad to see you kept with it. From what i remember it didnt need much by the end of 2nd phase to be fully operable... Its all lookin good now. So where did you end up gettin a job that gave your new money tree lol
Just working as a mechanic right now.. spending all my money on the piece, my sister keeps asking when I'm gonna get a cage but won't donate to the cause
I kinda wish i had someone make me a bender, the ones i'm looking at buying look the exact same as the ones we used in school, i just need it to be hydraulic because i dont have room in the garage to bend a stick of tube. After i moved the truck to Justins shop i had to do the steering and that was about it but it took a while waiting on parts and trying to figure out how to make it work.

I went to Austin with Gabe Yepez over down week. Your winters are my summers. Just mount the bender outside and save yourself a couple hundred bucks lol
a few people told me i can use the ram from a harbor freight setup for pretty cheap.
Its been fucking hot the past week or so.. triple digits every day, I'm thinking about moving up to Denver and splitting a house with my buddy.
Trying to tell him that he should mount it to one of the hitches on the Ranger.
one of the hitches.. lol... well the front one won't work so well. if i take the bed off the back one might work.
Another place you could mount it is out in your front yard where that stop sign is... there's even a hole already there for ya.
i have aranger too its a piece of shat lol nah just the transfer case and the front end
