this is the project of my 93' 5.2 limited.
these are some old pics to get you started!
just bought it stock and put my old 31 10.50 kellys on it and the light bar..
.did plenty of night time crawls with it stock.
.Moab fins and things.
Then I sprayed the body with a smooth light coat of bedliner and added a top clear coat!
Then I got a little stuck!
so I broke down and got a 4" lift skyjacker/pro
then came the 33"/12.50 pro comp AT's with 10x15 rock crawlers.
Part of the hell's revenge trail Moab
At this point I had only cut a little off tha corners to let the 33's turn.

So I got some more pic's up of more progress!
Time to start choppin!
just used a jig saw and a sawzall then rolled the edge back to avoid a sharp tire slasher then scraped and cleaned it and applied more bedliner.
This is what happens when your pads go out 60 miles from nothing!
The new rotor.
1" more lift with spring pads and removed the plastic "bumpers" and added some pulls to the front!
future plans to build sliders as well as front winch and rear bumpers!

Sorry it's the small one up on top!
Actually none of your pictures are on Lions Back. Lions Back is closed now and has been for ~3 years. The 2nd from the top that you are referring to is actually the backside of Baby Lions Back....
yeah, x3 not lion's back.

real, closed, lions back^
I know that the big lion's back is closed. I was there the weekend of the accident and I have attended some of the memorials. sorry that I couldn't remember the "baby" part but yes the one on top by the sand flats campground.

did that really happen? i've heard about the crash a little, but i'm not sure cause i've never been west of NC mountains...
from my understanding someone lost their brakes coming down, in the effect of that happening...although i've seen pictures of a XJ that was turned upside down in the crevase to the right in that video. someone fill me in on what happened exactly to close it
yeah man nice rig. I have those same baja lights from wally world! I like the last shot you have flexing out.
That one happened a WHILE ago. At EJS in 02 though a 4Runner was headed up as a couple rigs were headed down. BIG mistake. 4Runner ended up rolling off the right side about halfway up. Luckily they went off the right side, where there's a bunch of fallen rocks piled up so they only fell about halfway. Amazingly they all lived. It was closed because a developer bought the land and is going to build condos there.
yea and no one was hurt in that youtube video.
Just posting some more wheelin pic's!
My friend Beau attaching a video camera (of which I'm still trying to get the footage)
a 1 day wheeling trip to state bridge in search of a trail last spring!
and no he didn't make it I had to tow him from there!
on the top of Mt.Werner elev.10.500ft

some pics of the headlight overhaul!
started by tearing off the plastic...
then I put '73 ford pickup headlight mounting bracket and cup in(I had to do a little bending ind cutting)...
I cut a little off the top inside left for the driver and right for the passenger...
then I fitted the new headlight in place (the ones I bought are TruckLite brand housing and bulb)
Side two...
and now for the outer bezel...
I used galvanized sheet metal as to prevent rust...
rivets, panel bond and some poly filler...
some more bedliner and it's ready to hit the trails!
i give the bondo 2 trips.
looks good.
Welllll...I didn't know that. so...yeah.
that panel adhesive stuff is powerful. what brand did you use?
I actually like it...but it reminds me of a bastardized liberty/compass/cherokee child.
That's a helluva lot nicer than what I did. Then again, a 3 year old could have probably come up with something nicer than what I did
I like it.
I need to get long arms but I'm low on the money so are the RE, Rustys or IRO worth the buy?
of course Claytons would be the way to go but they are kinda pricey.
I would go with Iron rock before RE or Rustys....Irock make good stuff..
My buddy is selling his kit..
