Tom, maybe we can make a special one for his GF that says:
My boy friend built his WJ on 35's, went to Moab and all I got was this T-Shirt.

My list keeps growing:
1. Receive bar pin eleminator - ordered today from Kevin's
2. Change my front shocks after getting the bar pin eleminators from Kevin's
3. Remove rear bumper to sand and repaint and fix some body cracks in the rear quarter area that spread after the last trip to Moab
4. Tighten transmission cooler line, slight leak I thnik
5. Replace headlight - broke snaps and is held on by fuel line over remaining lugs
6. Check driver side tie rod end
7. Check/tighten the rest of the control arm bolts after the front axle swap
8. Finish sanding and painting other scrapped armor
9. Tighten rear lift gate latch handle, rattles...
10. Check track bar bushing
11. Maybe swap in my SYE transfer case, but probably not this close to GSW and too many other things to do
12. Get a quotes and replace old evaporative cooler on my house
13. Go through spares kit
I know there is more...
took the heep for a spin this past sun for the first time since wheeling rausch creek 4-18
it klunked everytime i let off the gas – pulled the cover tonight and found this – cracked in two places

Bumper almost ready, no more pics until i paint and mount.
Gonna try and weld plate for the mini sliders for the short arms.
Probably get a 120 amp alternator and put in the ford radiator fan now that i dont have time to make the rear bumper.
Well just found out that 5 to 6 lug adapters are not offered unless I do a 2-piece adapter because the patterns overlap. Since a 2 piece adapter probably wouldn't hold up to hard wheelin', I'm going to need to get custom shafts drilled to be 6-lug.
SOOO........decision time.
Do I just do the standard 33-spline 1.4" alloy shaft upgrade from Moser...or do I do 35-spline 1.5" or 40-spline 1.75" shafts? The 33 and 35 spline shafts would run ~$600 with a matching spool, and the 40 spline would run ~$700.
If I do the 35 or 40 spline shafts I need to get a new case to fit the larger carrier bearings ~$200.
So do I spend ~$600 for 33-spline that I would probably never break, or $800 for 35-spline that if I ever broke I should be kicked in the balls, or $900 on 40-spline that I should quit this hobby if I broke?
edit: just so everyone is aware, the stock axle is 31-spline 1.31".

Go ahead and go for 35 or 40 spline that way you should 'never' have to worry about it. You're gonna have to order another custom shaft if one breaks, so might as well get a shaft that has the least chance of breaking.
and the mad dash is on...
i'm running out of wrenchin' weekends quick!
x2. Definitely go 35 or 40spl. Given that the 9" is a pretty strong axle, you should be able to run your new shafts... forever, so why no make them the last you'll ever need? on the other side of the coin, if you don't upgrade everything in the 9 right off the bat, there is a chance you could break something besides the shafts... which might potentially cause collateral damage and claim a shaft. Pessimistic?, yes, but better safe than sorry. Make them strong. I've seen the collateral damage thing happen before, just on 31 spline 9s though.
Would $100 keep you from going 40 spline? You know decisions are made at the margin.

Yukon Nodular 3.250" case ordered, 35-spline 1.5" alloy shafts ordered, 35-spline spool ordered......
Trimmed the rear fender today Rear tires stuff great now!
Flexed out the front and found where I rub. When stuffed & turning I hit the sway bar. And the body by the door. And the control arm
1) Trim front
2) Trim rear bumper and somehow attach it to the body...
3) Replace UCA bushing
4) Install muffler
Doesn't sound bad to me
My list is getting longer:
Finished: Oil change, changed TC fluid, trimmed the front fenders a bit more, installed new front pass. window regulator (a victim of snow and ice this winter), removed front windshield side hood cowl seal, new front shocks on my bro's ZJ
To do: replace thermostat and thermostat housing (corroded and runs warm on the highway; neglected since GSW 08), new fan clutch, put some pantyhose over the K&N filter, cut out and replace rockers with 6x3 box, tube fenders, adjust Ox locker, install center limiting strap, tack weld the rear fenders back together, grease the joints, check bolts, install new front WJ CA's and rear shocks on my bro's ZJ
Good thing there is a long weekend coming up =-)

Greased up all the JJ joints and u-joints today and noticed my front LCA bushings are shot again. Lasted less then a year. Sucks.
So along with the list below I found out yesterday as I was finishing the front shocks and replacing the driver side tie-rod end, that my steering gear box was leaking... I got the pitman arm off this evening and have the replacement gear box in the garage. Should be able to get it installed tomorrow night. So many school things for the kids too.
1. Receive bar pin eleminator - ordered today from Kevin's - Done
2. Change my front shocks after getting the bar pin eleminators from Kevin's - Done
3. Remove rear bumper to sand and repaint and fix some body cracks in the rear quarter area that spread after the last trip to Moab
4. Tighten transmission cooler line, slight leak I thnik
5. Replace headlight - broke snaps and is held on by fuel line over remaining lugs
6. Check driver side tie rod end - Done
7. Check/tighten the rest of the control arm bolts after the front axle swap

9. Tighten rear lift gate latch handle, rattles...
10. Check track bar bushing
11. Maybe swap in my SYE transfer case, but probably not this close to GSW and too many other things to do
12. Get a quotes and replace old evaporative cooler on my house - Done, oh so nice and the wife is happy
13. Go through spares kit
Overhauled the 231D and replaced the rear outer axle seals last weekend.
Still to do:
Replace starter
Replace oil pump, rear main seal and oil
Replace rubber Clayton's bushings
Finish rebuilding front TR bumper and re-mount
Mount Co2 tank
Fix rear shock/limit strap issues
Replace radiator
Fluids in diffs
I'm sure there is more.
fixed left front upper bump stop and found a blown shock - ordered 2 twin tubes from fullsizexjgear
not sure how my 8.8 locker fiasco is going to play out - also randy's r&p sent me the wrong cross pin - they overnighted a replacement
i have a NIB weight distributing hitch that i need to setup and do a dry run with (i hope all the parts are in the box!)
this prep shit is wearing me out
New stearing gear box in and working great, replaced two tie rod ends while I was in the neighborhood. Should be done with the track bar upgrade tomorrow as the DW from the upper being shot was a major part of the gear box leaking I'm betting. Need to replace the passenger side motor mount, more fall out from the major DW episodes. Well that and 190k.
I think everything else is minor in the big picture. Oh, need a front end alignment after replacing the tie rod ends.
Installed front spacers and started hacking away at the front fenders. Drivers side is done, tomorrow night will be the passenger side and then the painting to cover up the cracked paint. Then all I have left is replacing an UCA bushing and installing a muffler
Installed front and rear bumpers which are my tow points now (didn't have any before). KOR tube sliders should be going on this week. Didn't have enough money for the steering brace, I ordered it but didn't have enough in my account so I'll have to wait.
