Sounds like Northwest Fab and AA need to team up to make one killer t-case.

That engine in a Jeep that light is going to be a lot of fun.

I've already told Cam how we need to start having a little competition on the trails in the future, but yeah, the drag races should be more fun now! Of course it needs to be like 3:00am first.

You know someone who might want the LTBs? I like to drive it to work from time to time so I may need to find a set of street tires if I sell them while they still have good tead. Don't want to burn up the stickies.

Oh it's been a while. This isn't the only thing that has happened recently but it is one that I am excited about. Finally a face to my rig. If things go well this weekend maybe I will have more of a complete story to add! I dig the HID's.

I'm diggin the rake on the front clip.

I assume you are going to cap the frame rails?

How much of a PITA is it to get the winch to free spool?

Thanks guys. Yeah I am going to cap them off. Cam has already given me shit about cleaning that up. Just not decided on what look to go with there yet, may trim it back a little more. The winch is real easy to get to. I'll get more pics up later but it's easy to access from the side. Now back out to the garage to work! To bad it will be in the 90's today.

Nah he is waiting on some @sshole to come back and finish wiring

I'm not sure if I want to hear it run or see it with the maxxis mounted up more

Damn it, there you go bringing up Will again. I'm going to have to put in extra hours!

Got the plumbing done for the steering over the weekend as well as finished up the frame work for the center console and got an aluminum skin made for it. In these pics you can see the structure behind the grill. There is a big opening on the side to get at the winch lever. It's getting easier to get more and more done as I see it come together!
Also I picked this trick up surfing the net one day. It's funny how obvious it is now but it just never occurred to me before. When cutting hose like the push lock kind with no metal braiding inside just take a sharp chisel and with a BFH give it one good whack. Clean cut and done. Easier than the cut off wheel!

Are you running the 4l60 or a th400? Sorry if you already posted. I really want to run the megashifter on my swap. I've had one on every auto that I've owned.

It's the 4L60. I was going for a 4L65 but this engine/trans combo was a package deal from an abandoned project along with a bunch of other parts. The 4L60 has been opened up to install Novak adapter output so I am gambling that the rest of it was worked on during that process. At least in some way, LOL. I still need to swap out the pan to the shallow pan but don't know if doing that will allow me to see if anything has been done. But I am sure I'll find out real soon when I get it running! I am excited about this shifter. Its a TCI Streetfighter. I like the feature that allows you to just bump it through the forward gears as well as out of reverse into drive.

I should make sure Cam has a camera in hand to capture the smile on my face when I drive my first V8 equipped Jeep! OR the frown from catastrophic failure, HAHA

Sooo, it might help if the other 7 injectors were not clogged.
Soaking overnight for another try at the first start up again tomorrow! But that one cylinder sounded pretty cool.

Cool. I have the 4l60 for mine also. Im planning on using the novak adapter on it as well. That shifter is the same as the b&m mega shifter with the ratchet action. I can say from experience it makes having an auto a LOT more fun.

Cant wait to see it run!

ed: also there were running changes made to the 4l60 that made it stronger so the newer the better. 03? and newer I think were a significant improvement.

Mine is an 04 so hopefully it has those improvements. I remember reading something about that but can't recall what it talked about.

Finally had a chance to start it for the first time this weekend with the help from my electrician Cam. I am very happy that he enjoys wiring! Well, enough to work on mine at least. The goal ended up being to do everything need just so it could run. So some of the wiring is not in its final location. But all the pluming pretty much is. I am very happy about the intake. Glad I found the Cobra head elbow, that totally makes it all possible. Check out www.intakehoses.com, they have a great selection for custom needs. For the upper radiator hose I got lucky and was able to use a combination of it and the stock lower hose. Fits perfect. On the lower hose it took me my third purchase before making one up that worked.

So after getting all the wiring in we wanted to test run it, we primed the fuel system and brought fuel pressure up. Sure enough we found 3 fitting leaking. Apparently I didn't even bother to put a wrench tightening on 2 of them. Once that was fixed time to give it a try. And, nothing. CPS wasn't hooked up along with another wire. One more try and would turn over but no starting. Turned out only one cylinder was trying to fire. The resulting conclusion was that my injectors must be clogged since it had sit for 2 years. So I made a bath of gas and Seafoam and tried soaking over night. Well, that didn't work to clean them. Knowing that I was going to probably have to buy a new used set anyway I experimented with shooting jets of carb cleaner into one. And sure enough I got it clean and it worked. So I spent Sunday evening cleaning out 7 injectors. Man they were nasty to. No wonder it wouldn't run. With them all cleaned up and the fuel rail back together I gave it another shot. And it fired right up! With a large exhaust leak at the headers, not all the header bolts were tight either, LOL. But after that fix it still sounded wrong. Turns out now it's only firing on the passenger side bank. Now the drivers side is not working. Which is odd because the only one that was working the day before was on the drivers side. We are guessing thats because I neglected to also clean out the fuel rail and that crud has clogged that side again. But knowing that the injectors were good and clean before the start up I am sorta hoping that the new fuel in the rail dissolves that crud in a couple days if I don't find a wiring problem somewhere. So always just clean all that stuff out first before trying to start an engine that has sat for a couple years.
There is plenty more work to do but finally getting real close! But tonight I need to take a break and rest. Once I get it running on all 8 I'll get the video up with sound. But, 4 sounded pretty cool!

OK here is the video. Unfortunately I had a finger over the mic. But, eventually you can also hear the intake really well. Pretty exciting!

I predict that exhaust is gonna sound flat out nasty.

It's hard to hear much but sounds like it's idling a little high? Too bad the tach isn't wired up to know for sure. Looks like it has good voltage so the cause of the high idle could be the lack of o2's
