Is that Jonathan's XJ? It sure looks a lot different now!
Nice pics, your rig is looking pretty sharp. Now just stop taking the easy lines on Rocky Mount.
Yeah that is john, he just finished his rig the Wednesday before the trip working on it all winter on the axle swap. Its definitely a sweet rig, probably the reason I'm into jeeps as he used to live down the road from me and I'd ride by there drooling (his brother had a black xj that was meaner than his is now back then too). Johns a real cool guy, his brother actually welded on the brackets for the new 8.8 I had to put in after cams 8.8 was discovered to be bent BAD after the arb and gears were toasted in November on my way to school.
Trip to callaente is planned with the local club me and john are in at the end of may. I recall you've been there Elliot, how is it?
Calalente (or however you spell it) is awesome! It's a nice drive from central NC, very scenic. It isn't a huge trail system but you can still have a lot of fun there. There are many waterfall climbs and creek crossings.
I suggest hitting Welder and Little Tellico. Those are some great trails. Best of luck!
It was a Sony a300 digital slr camera btw
tinted my friends windows on his bronco the other day, which lead me to find some DIY tint for myself instead of paying to get it done. I did the windows for him for the most part, and they were sheets that had to be cut

$13 to tint my front windows, verses $110 to get it done. I'm confident enough to risk the $13, with a lifetime satisfaction guarantee
Let me know how that goes, i tinted mine with just the auto zone tint and it turned out pretty good. Anxious to see how the pre-cut will work!
My friend did his bronco with the autozone kind, I just feel that won't last long, the stuff I ordered has a lifetime warranty on it. It being precut could make it more tricky that cutting it myself but we'll see
how dark you goin?
I ordered 20%, should match the back windows perfect from what I've seen and heard. I've been wanting to do this since I got the jeep, just the $110 the 3m place wants isn't worth it to me. $13 and an hour of work sounds about right
I am not sure what percentage is legal for the front windows here in NC, but I do know my friend went to go get his inspection done, and they failed him for too dark of tint on the front windows... so he wasted all that money to get them tinted b/c he has to rip it off now
Its 32% front and whatever you want on the back is legal. Its 35% with 3% margin for error. I work at a car dealership so I can pass. My brother has 5 on his truck and he gets them to pass him haha
Nice. My buddy used to always roll his windows down right away when he saw a cop just so they didn't have some reason to pull him over.
Yeah there's that, but I don't think 20% is dark enough to worry about it, and my windows are almost always down. 30 degrees or hotter, rain or shine they're usually down
"you've got people"
Hahaha
I wish I had people haha
oh no!
bling bling!
Ill put the word out for the guys, I don't think ill be able to make it as ill be in school and it'll be right before or during exams, ill post up next time we go, we've been looking for someone that knows the area to lead the group(apparently you can get lost bad, and quick up there)
Hahaha just read you're spelling of the place again made me lol. That's how its said, who knows how its actually spelled ha
Yeah we got lost up there after our friend hydro locked his zJ it got dark on us while we were sucking the water out of the engine so we didnt kno where the hell to go but that was 4 years ago and ive been there alot since then
tint got here, $13 with first class shipping included!
well as i suspected, the precut tint made it extra difficult to put on.
looked great, perfect match in getting 20%, just super hard to put on by myself...so it had cracks in it and so i ripped it off...only $13 loss. probably going to get it done professionally and sell my subs to fund that, and then get something more crisp and sharp instead of 2 12's for noise.
I had a feeling that DYI tint would be a pain, but hey, 13 bucks is chump change when it comes to jeeps.

"JL Audio 10W1v2-4" FTW
Got it for $80 on ebay.
The precut of it made it much harder, I probably could have made it work but just 1 spot messed up a little bit and that was it for me. I'm super maticulus about things like tint so I had to rip it off at the slightest fuck up.
As far as subs, I'd dream of just running 1 10 or 12 w6 or w7 and some nice component speakers, but I've got higher priorities for my jeep. I wanna find something (maybe a used w6) that is just nice crisp bass when I need some, when I'm ridin through the hood son.
Ill update what I do audio wise. I know I've got a 1800 watt kenwood lined up for $150 that is a year old, $400 new, going to search craigslist for a sub to match that's more space efficient than 2 12s
