just got another set of lights for the front rock lights purposes, will post pics when i'm done.
going for this for the front, got the same lights this guy is running (onebadzj)
AGR rock ram hydro assist setup in the near future...?...
no orange
but my jeep hasnt started since wednesday, been told by 5+ people my symptoms are of a bad crank position sensor...which is great since its the hardest sensor in the world to get to in order to change it. i cant even find it!
looking at that picture makes me think that i really need to get my cladding black again
hahahaah. never really noticed how grey it was...i'll have some black bumpers and cut out rockers this summer anyways....
I looked but dont think you mentioned, what springs are you running?
Rubicon express 3.5 and 4.5 springs
Crank sensors are a PITA to get to, lol... get that thing fixed yet? If you have no injector pulse along with no ignition signal, chances are good it's a crank sensor...
idk yet i wanna fix it myself, but its sounding like a frustrating time to get it fixed
and i work at a dealership, i'll get it fixed for the price of the sensor pretty much and i wont have to do anything, even getting it towed in and everything it'll be about the price of the sensor at autozone or whatever
Yeah its wicked I just drive cars around to other dealerships and deliver them to people and stuff like that, and I get a hook up on service when I can't or don't wanna fix something on the rolling pile of shit I drive
gave in got my jeep towed in
replaced the crank sensor, and turns out my alternator was only pulling 12 amps instead of 14 they said, so a new alternator as well...but jeep runs now, theyre going to adjust my belt and i get it back tomorrow because my power steering pump is crooked as hell so the belt isn't lined up there and tears through belts from being misaligned, so theyre fixing that as well.
think my belt is doing the same...
Mine was chewing off the edge of the belts I put on and making noise, so I told them to take care of that as well
yeah, noticed mine months ago when I put the new belt on. Showing signs of chewing the edge of the belt and started chirping just a couple weeks ago... what'd they do to cure it? new p/s mount or something? I know your is a 5.2 and mines a 4.0, but might be a similiar fix...
Yeah they're putting a new mount on for it is exactly what they're doing actually... I've got a 5.2 though. Just look at the belt while the engines on and you should be able to see what isn't lined up pretty easily. My steering pully was litterally shaking around when the motor was running
figured so. How much was your mount? I broke my alternator mount, little aluminum mount clsot me nearly a hundred bucks, and that was when I was working for the dealer, lol. Couldn't find the right mount in the pick-n-pull lot or it would have only been $15 or so.
I haven't found out yet, they are doing that tomorrow, but the shop owner has a 5.2 at his house from a dokata truck or something he said and he'll pull that off for mine if its got it on it still, if not he said they'll find one at the salvage yard they use for me. The shop that did my engine swap is fixing this for me since my dealership machanics aren't useful past a oil change and tire rotation anymore...
Lol. Yeah, theres a point where you're on your own. Aside from the engine and trans- whats still ZJ in that thing?
Transmission and transfer case are the only things left original, and the tcase will be gone as soon as I can find time to put my 242 in I have for it, although I really want to put a 231 or 241 from a rubicon in.
I personally would go with the 231. My buddy has an 06 Rubicon on 33's and a 6 speed- with a 4:1 t-case, you are barely moving in 3rd gear(you could jump out and do a chinese fire drill without a problem, lol), let alone 1st- my wheeling would never require me to go that slow. But maybe out on the rocks it'd come in handy to do 10 MPH in overdrive, lol. A 231 is also easier to find, and less expensive I would imagine.
Yeah I want a 231 BAD but I want a 241 extra bad but that's very unlikely.
I wish I could trade my 242 for a 231, since I'm locked front and rear the part time of the 242 is useless to my jeep and 242 has no aftermarket like a 231 of a 4:1 does it? I just want a 231 instead of this dang 242
241 would be a dream
I have no worries that the 242 won't be low enough as itd be the same as a 231 or 249, its just I want to do a 231 now so I won't have to do a tcase swap twice when I want to put a 4:1 on it, although I could just get a 231 keep it out and put 4:1 on it with it out and then put it in when I get it all set up and run the 242 until that time comes...
That's my new plan then, either that or keep eyes open for a 241 and run the 242. Either way I need a 2wd case to keep the front end to stop spinning while the hubs are unlocked and reduce wear on the 44
