Still got pics uploading from Day 1, but today we did Bull Canyon, Gemini Bridges, Mineral Bottom, up into Hellroaring Canyon a little bit, and then Long Canyon as a shortcut back to town. Went about 100 miles today. Georgeous scenery out there. Trails were all very easy, only used 4-Lo a couple times just for gearing, but still worth it. Was just my ZJ and Pam's ZJ today, with Putz riding 'gun, so we didn't want to push it too hard anyways. Everybody else should be showing up tonight so we'll do something a little more challenging tomorrow, probably Hell's Revenge.

Pics to come later. Time to relax.

So Jim's ZJ is now loaded up on Stan's trailer after Hells. Something up with the t-case internally. Other than that Hells went really good today.

Moab Outpost has the case, turned out the bearing on the input shaft went boom. 45 minutes to tear it down, an hour to reassemble, $10 for a bearing raped from a 231 they had in the yard. No damage to the rest of the case, and I pick it up in about 20 minutes.

I love the pic from the top of Long Canyon, just before P.P. We came down it in a snowstorm last Thanksgiving and missed all the great views of the fins. The snow and ice did make for a little extra pucker on Pucker Pass though.

We ran Kane Creek in the rain today. The wet rocks definitely added some challenge to the trail. Working on pics from today and yesterday.

Update on Jim's case. Problem ended up being a destroyed input shaft bearing. Outpost put in and reassembled the case. We were having issues getting to mate to the tranny, but after Scott's advice we got it to work. Something with something inside the input shaft, all I remember is it worked, lol. Then the rear driveshaft wouldn't go in far enough. This morning we pulled the tail cone to find that the speedo drive gear was installed backwards, keeping the shaft from going in enough. Putting it all back together now and hopefully we can get Jim out on the trail again before we leave!

LOL, been there & done that too Dave. Glad you guys figured that one out. I'm not sure if I would have remembered the gear backwards can cause that.

Today....was....awesome! We ran Poison Spider, which is definitely far from the most technical trail, but it sure was a great run after a potentially horrible break. Yesterday was spent driving down to Outpost and back about 3 times, and just sitting around the room playing "hurry up and wait". Then we ran into the driveshaft fitment issue last night, and I was almost ready to throw in the towel. Figuring out the issue this morning and flipping that drive gear, then mounting up the rear shaft definitely took me out of the horrific slump/depression I was in. Running a trail successfully brought me to an absolute high.

I truly have to thank this whole group for sticking by and helping soooo much. I definitely couldn't have done it without everybody, whether it was grabbing a wrench/hefting a case, giving advice, or just being a sounding board. Huge thanks go to Stan, the "TC Fairy" -- for figuring out the perfect setup of the 9/16" wobble and socket to drop the TC at 7 in the morning. Thank you all!

I'll try to get pics off of the camera, but may have to wait until home since I'm running a bit short on space on this laptop.
