kudos on the bumper! turned out great! and thanks a tonnage for the mount pics!! +rep given for the mount pics!

any plans on making a little skid plate kinda attachment for the EVAP canister? im thinking about moving mine up into the air box area, as i no longer have a air cleaner there. or just deleting the fucker

and any plans for a fair-lead? probably when you mount your winch...

    but nice build !!

96 ZJ swapped in 5.2, 242, 14bolt rear, big ugly home brew bumper, 7.5" of lift in the front 9" in the rear, long arms, hummer wheels with 37s... (dont worry front axle is next)

It should be heavy. Weight is a sign of reliability. If it doesn't work, you can always hit him with it.

A skid plate for that thing would be a waste of time...your time would be better spent relocating it.

I plan on relocating it. Just haven't gotten around to it. Haven't really thought about what winch I want to get. Much research to come I guess lol

Sorry I'm a bit slow, but did you happen to save the cardboard form this bumper project? The Iron Scorpion thread just made me think of this.

Installed my new crossmember today. It raised the tranny/t-case up at least an inch, possibly 2 from where it sat before. Didn't notice any vibrations or anything while driving so that's good. This should allow me to build a skid that is flat instead of sloping downward to accomodate for the t-case thus increasing clearance/improving break-over plane. yadayada

    pics for comparison:

I really like that, cleaner looking bends than the last one.

Edit: What type of tube did you use (diameter and thickness)?

x2 it looks great. Did you use the same method of bending it as you did the first time? Also, how much weight did you shed from the old one to this one?

Weight was at least cut in half. The last one was HEAVY.

Tubing is HREW 1.25" OD with .083 wall. The first one was bend with a torch and vise , this one was done with my recently aquired Pro-Tools bender.
