First year for GSO. Only had 2 ZJs so I wouldn't say it was a huge success but everyone had fun.
ZJs are SirFugeo and Diesel ZJ and the TJ is our trail guide George.
I've got some good videos too but they are shot in HD so they are pretty big. I'll upload a few to Youtube later.
looks like a good time. If i had a tow vehicle and a trailer i would have had a better chance of making the trip. I cant wait to see the vids.
Hey Anthony, thanks for the invite! Thanks to George for showing us the way, and a big thanks to Adam's parents for letting us camp on their property. I had a blast this weekend. It was a great shakedown run for my new setup and tested pretty much every piece of armor on my ZJ.
I thought the terrain (typical northeast trails cut through the forest, but with a bunch of large rock formations to climb on) was a lot of fun to wheel on even with how wet it was. I'd definitely be up for making the trip again.
Hopefully we can get a much better turnout next year. Funny how the first year of GSO was two grand cherokees from the states
I had a great time too. Thanks again for the invite Anthony. Hopefully we can do it again with a few more jeeps next time.
Yea, definitely have to hit it again.
As George said when it's dry you can spend hours on either Forest or Greens trying different lines.
I'll be setting up another GSO next year. Sure only 2 ZJs from the states came but I wasn't expecting a huge turn out by any means.
Hell, maybe even my rig will be trail ready next year.
EDIT: Working on uploading some videos now. I'll post them as they become available. Gonna take awhile due to there file size (smallest is like 100mb lol).

My carnage list was pretty small:
- More dents on all doors -- surprisingly they still all open in their own "special" way.
- Busted valve stem -- with the Stauns and tire warranty, I just ran the tire flat through the rest of the run (about 1-2 miles??) and swapped on the matching spare at the main access road
- Tcase linkage popped out again -- one of the bushings seemed to pop out and it should be fixable
- Ripped off my passenger sideview mirror
so did you guys just do greens? or timber the rock anything else up there?
We did Forest in the morning and Greens in the afternoon. George couldn't wheel on Sunday, so we only wheeled on Saturday.
Videos!
I didn't bother editing them, but each isn't extremely long. These are the same ones that ILikeMud took. If you have the bandwidth, click "Watch in High Quality" for a much clearer video.

A sloppy rock ledge:

Obstacle that isn't too nice to stock ZJ light assemblies:

Phil -- After the first attempt, the rest is just getting him realigned to avoid the rock on the right.

Last major rock formation on the trail:
Me -- I tried to crawl it first. Then I tried to give it some gas not knowing I moved a rock right under my front passenger tire. We all needed to take the "easy" line to the right of this to get out. Phil and I almost made it to the top and needed to get winched out because of high centering on the top.
Greens Mountain Videos
A fun little obstacle...

A little play area...
Me - I tried to take a more difficult line at first, but it was pretty off-camber and wasn't in the mood to flop it.

Me going down Superman -- Yeah this is a fun obstacle since all you see is the ground when going down.

Thanks Jarod.
I tried uploading them but had a hell of a time with Youtube.
It's Adam. Glad you guys had a good time. Sorry I couldn't head out or hang out around the campfire even. Extremely busy schedule lately. I'll catch you guys next time around though...
Beautiful country. Don't be too discouraged about the turnout. We only had 5 ZJs at the first GSW back in 1998 and never more than 4 each day. "If you build it they will come."
That's what I'm hoping Sandy.
Next year will be better.
