did you need to get the climbing gear out to get in and out of it?

would you ever do top truck challenge with it?

actually I'm in a wheelchair- so it is a little higher than my superduty d/d and a bit of a pain at this height.

I entered it in the Extreeme Truck Challenge 2 years ago at Twisted Trails in northern MI when I was running the 9" /D44 combo and the 38" claws. I went through about 4 sets of front axle shafts that weekend. I had a complete blast doing it, but that's what wiped out my passenger side.

Just a 5 minute clip of 3 of the 5 events. I broke and couldn't finish the 1st and last event. I limped through the others with broken axles- except the dump truck pull.

I'll probably do it again after a little more testing and tuning this summer. It's pretty darn stout now!

Right nowI'm very happy with it. Just some body-work and paint and finish up a bunch of little things- like boxing in the gas tank. I also have some new Simpson 5-points to bolt in it. After that I'll finish tubing-out the front end and add some sheet-metal back in to make it look somewhat like a ZJ again. After that I only plan to modify as need for repairs.

Oh- and continue to beat the ever-loving tar out of it!!!!!

Cool build. Care to post pics of the driver's side of the interior? Curious how your brake and throttle are setup since (I'm assuming) you need to use them with your hands.

It's just a lever-type application. I'll grab some pics tonight. Yes- using hand throttle/brakes allows me to be a little more precise than most on the rocks. Some of the guys I compete with say that it's an unfair advantage, but they are just giving me shit. They are all rather impressed that I'm out there competing head to head with them.

The hand controls are the only thing that you wouldn't normally see on any other rock buggy. Outside of that it's just the basic crap- decent bucket seats, cage, 5-points, ect.
I did mount my winch controls directly to the throttle.brake lever though. It was a nightmare trying to control all the normal items and run a winch at the same time. I was having difficulty running the winch while trying to do 4 other things at once LOL!!!
