We left extra early on Thursday so we could get in an afternon hike at Delicate Arch before the M&G:

Not many pics since the Arch was super close to the trail head. I guess I understand how it got its name.

After several people gave me funny looks for taking pics of the thing they called "carnes" we realized we weren't quite there yet.

Low and behold, we drastically underestimated the size of the arch:

*sigh* Yet again we were not-so-politely informed that we STILL weren't there...

Luckily there were some nice trail signs to help us find it:

Which lead us to Dead end which we decided to walk to the end to:

Thinking I was all that, I tried to climb down it....yeah not a good idea:

    Phew, I finally made it:

Once we turned the corner we saw this giant....

group of Sweedish tourists posing in the arch for ~30 minutes...get out already would ya

We finally made it in there:

And on Sunday we picked a shorter trail so we could hit up a hike on the way back. For those that don't know, this is Hanging Lake just outside of Glenwood Springs in Glenwood Canyon. Beautiful area, but TONS of people - it is like ants there.

Pic coming back down of Glenwood Canyon. You can see the train tracks as they go next to the Colorado River (I-70 at this point is in a tunnel):

Right at the beginning of the hike:

I have hiked to Hanging Lake a few times. Very scenic and a nice work out as well.

Hmmm, maybe you should lead a photography run at next GSW?
