im suspecting the fuel pump strainer got gummed up when i ran out of gas. if i where to drop the tank and remove the fuel pump is the fuel pump strainer replaceable? id like to know before i get in to it. where could i but just a new set up strainers?
ok so i answered my own question by finding them for sale on the autozone website. the question is if i have run the tank dry causing crap to contaminate the pump, how will i know whether or not changing the filters will alleviate the issue? could it have damaged the pump itself, causing the new strainers to be useless?
Fuel pumps are expensive but you might as well go ahead and get a new pump. How pissed would you be to do all that work and then either the pump is bad or it dies 2 weeks later?
