Actually, it would be pretty damn funny if somebody was able to climb up on top of that thing and take a pic. Your icy road pic from last year would be trumped big time there Dave

Hasn't that become a tradition for Ron to take a minimum of one gay picture every year??? I mean, first it was the pic at Top of the World, then it was at the end of Pritchett last year!! I mean, does any smiley say it better than

Thursday LATE afternoon for me, probably departing from Boulder at 4PM. Since I'm out Friday, I really need to stick around until then.

Well looks like I'll be heading out Wed early afternoon. If we meet on the west side of Vail Pass, then I can keep up.

For the Thursday noon people, FYI - the wifey and I are going to take a less conventional route, but only slightly. A guy at work has been bugging me to take the hwy 128 route since it's more scenic than the 191 route. Only adds 25 minutes or so to the trip. Takes us around the east-southeast edges of Arches.

It's worth the 25 minutes... Just be careful if you're towing, if you stay on your side of the road the whole time, you WILL hit your rig on some overhanging rocks!

That is the route I usually go and honestly, I don't think it adds any more than maybe 10 minutes. What you loose in a slightly slower speed, you gain by going diagnal. Seeing the burned up Dewey Bridge will both bum you out and piss you off. The parents of the kids should be paying!!!

It will be cool to see the Colorado at a close to full level in the canyon. It peaked earlier this month at just under 40,000 cubic feet of water per second at the state line to now 26k. By Wednesday/Thursday it should be back up with the warmer weather.

When I was there in April, they said 128 was in pretty poor condition and badly eroded in spots (hearsay). Just be careful.

My departure time is still a bit up in the air.

I will be leaving around 1pm from Denver and taking the scenic route HWY 128 into Moab.

For the Thursday noonish group doing the same route, I might catch up to you, but don't bother waiting, with my sketchy departure time.

How Ironic would it be if you got stuck on 128 on the way to wheel in MOAB!??

Have fun and ditto what cjchamp posted...

And I might catch up to you, depending on how late you leave, John! Leaving at 4PM from Boulder, taking 93 through Golden (brief 15-min stop at Slee for CO2 refill). Also quick stop in GJ to pick up brother-in-law Zach + cousin Kyle.

Not looking good for Thursday, and even worse for the bio. I am still working on getting a trailer. If not I may make it with my ZJ packed like last year. I will let you know in the morning what is most likely. What with the ETD again?

Ron's still in Iowa, having a few issues. So we'll be heading out around noon I think.
