Yeah I saw those earlier in the year when they were originally due out in Feb. Those should be a huge seller since the LTBs are tough, aggressive, and pretty inexpensive compared to other tires of the same size. I love my 31x11.5s.
yeah but don't the ltb's ride like shit on the road and are hard to balance? (internet forum hearsay)
Yeah they do ride and wear like shit on the road. They are awesome for a trail tire, though. I usually air mine down to about 15 psi since I'm only on 31s and they conform really well to the east coast rocks here and give great traction. Of course they are ridiculous in the mud.
I think my LTBs ran me about $115/tire (31x11.5) -- which is much less than other available 31x10.5 tires. If your rig is trail only or are looking into getting a set of trail-only tires, these would be great (at least on the east coast -- I can't speak for the conditions out west).
Definitely not recommended for those that drive long distances on the road with their ZJ.

out of round, hard to balance, ride like shit on the blacktop – but unstoppable on the trail
easy on the wallet for a hardcore tire – def getting the 35’s when they’re available
i run two sets – bfg a/t’s street – ltb’s trail

Had 34's on the ram. Ride like shit but for blemish tires they were cheap and had no issues getting them balanced. They take a little to warm up (bias ply) but i'd get them again especially 35's when I step up to that range. Good in snow since I used them as winter tires for the DD. They are going on the ZJ. Are the 35's going to be narrow like most of the 34 inch ltb's?

Nevermind 35x12.5, NICE
Did you guys see that M16 they have? Definately has a unique look to it.

I've got the 33x13.5x15's and I don't really know what to think about them. As a strictly off-road tire, they pretty much own anything else I have ever ran. The traction is biblical. I stayed at street pressure when I took 'em to Moab and didn't chirp once, made it up over stuff I didn't think was possible. In the dirt they're epic, and in fresh snow they are unstoppable.
On the flip side, if your rig sees even a little street use, these aren't the tires for you. I'm still young, and can probably deal with quirks more than most of you old folks, but the simple fact is these are NOT street tires. The bias ply construction means that you get flat spots if you park your rig for more than 10 minutes if it's cold or more than an hour when it's hot. They are IMPOSSIBLE to balance, even after spinning the rim. I can't remember the numbers off the top of my head, but the amount of weights they needed to even slightly balance my tires was ludicrous. These two things combine to give you some serious vibrations while driving over 5MPH, and I attribute these vibrations to the failure of some of my drivetrain components.
Also, it is quite apparent that Interco paid NO heed whatsoever to the street drivability of these tires. While the traction on dirt, rocks, and fresh snow is, like previously mentioned, amazing; LTB's don't know their asses from their elbows (if tires had asses or elbows) on wet pavement, hardpacked snow, or ice. I can get the back to step out on damp pavement with ease, and icy and snowy roads leave me with brown stains in my pants. Of course, when you DO go off the road because of a lack of traction (and I did), getting out of the median is easy, even if there is 2+ feet of snow in it (ask me how I know).
I hope that pretty much sums the tires up.
Suicide summed them up better than I could.
Now the question is -- how do LTBs compare to the SXs? My buddy has a set of SXs and those suck nuts on the road as well. The number of wheel weights to balance them was laughable.
The LTBs supposedly have a stronger sidewall than the TSLs, but how much stronger are the SXs? I know I've abused my sidewalls pretty good at times and the LTBs never gave in.
I don't doubt that the SXs are stronger, but does the economy of the LTBs offset the extra durability of the SXs?
I got 32x10.50 TSL Radial's and they good tire for the trail and ok for the road....they dont wear that good but not as bad ass other super swapers....sidewalls are very strong....I've had nails and other stuff in the tire and that thing would never go flat,I even pulled them out,I was out the whole weekend and it stay at 10psi....Now thats a good tire...lol
is it april yet?
Sudz, is your HP30 locked? I'm doing the same axles as you have. I was toying with the idea of running 35" tires, but it sorta scares me of doing so with a HP30 -- especially heavy bias ply...
I ran 34's for a season. Very rough on road.
Off road only, maybe. On road, never again.
I'm on my second set of MTR's.
Just hoping the pricing on the 40s will be decent.
Man y'all are a bunch of mallcrawlers. Street this, carpool line that...
Is it June yet?!
Look at the link you originally posted
Perhaps the April release date was Interco's idea of an April Fools joke...

Hmm... Most of the new sizes look like they were bumped to June but the 35 x 17s and the 40 x 16s still say April.
I found a set of 33x13.5 16's at around 60% that I can pick up for about $200. I'm so tempted to grab them right now.
For some reason I never noticed the 33x13.5 flavor of the LTBs. Not sure how much of a pain the extra width will be fitting them to a 4.5" long armed ZJ. I may be rethinking some things now...
I like those M16's, but for the majority of wheelin I do (moab and mostly desert/rock) swampers just don't work that well. they're strong, but the traction is really designed for wet/muddy conditions and if I wanted a strong extreme tire, I'd just go to a creapy crawler and be done with it.
Cody
Wow, the 34x10.50s are cheap....
